yeah I'm certain the next not brand new anime I watch after Bebop is Angel Beats. It will be interesting at least since the last 2 anime I watched without any real knowledge of what they are about were Air and Steins;Gate, my favorite and least favorite anime I've seen in the past 2 1/2 years.
Gargantia was way too in between for darkness. I think that's my issue anyway (other than refusing to give a lot of the cast more creative personalities at points). I honestly hate to say this but the way they went about it felt way too typical. While there was some good darker twists and story, I honestly would have preferred slice of life with the blatant inevitable love interests needing to have everything translated. Either that or it should have gone ridiculously dark, it felt too half-assed, especially since it was only a 13 episode series.
Decided to rip through one of the shorter items on my "to watch" list while waiting for a movie to download and started watching through Eden of the East. I wish I could've gotten more than the first couple of episodes in English because Takizawa's English voice is <3 Also, one thing I can say for this show so far... it does not have any Freudian subtext. Because that would imply that it's trying to be subtle.

Iri yes. She'll show up near the end of the season. Kiritsugu... I can't recall. I know he's only shown up once in the manga so far, but I think it was in 2wei, not the original, so probably not in this season.
If you need a Kiritsugu fix, his VA has a role in the new Highschool DxD season. He's doing my favorite character in terms of personality from the novels.
