A friend recommended Shingeku no Kyojin, and so I did watch it earlier this week. I like the animation, contrary to Vylash's opinion, however, I cannot stop myself from cringing over the dramatic action scenes (slow-motioned, vignette, and all), and flash backs. The titans were drawn creepy, but they could be creepier. But... I like it. Sasha is awesome, and I can't wait to see her again.

Man i remember when i thought Kyojin was gonna be good, such a ridiculous show, weak cast except Mikasa and I guess Sasha, absurd plot, shitty animation with so many still frames it might as well be a powerpoint presentation, so disappointing.

Gargantia has been brilliant so far, interesting plot/setting, great production values and an exceptionally strong cast, will urobochi ruin the last episode? Probably.

Awful writing, accelerator and touma ruining everything they're involved in, railgun wasting it's potential, kuroko being useless despite the fact that she should pretty much be the strongest character in the show (plays into the awful writing bit) That's one thing that pisses me off about the Raildex universe, there's so much potential there that never even comes close to being fully utilized

It's more that everything you praise the latter for is exactly what everyone else finds to be weak and dragging the series down. Especially how you think Urobuchi is the one who will destroy the series, when outside of the most recent episode, only the first episode (which he wrote) was any good. Even moreso how you say Titan has subpar storytelling, yet praise Gargantia, which literally had an entire episode that consisted of Ledo running away from transvestites while picking up a bottle of soy sauce.

Also about Gargantia, first of all, it was not an entire episode. It was stupid, but not an entire episode. Second of all, while the writing has so far not done a particularly great job at making a lot of amazing characters or even being the most exciting series, what it is doing in terms of building its setting and foreshadowing has been nearly flawless and could pay-off big time depending on where the series goes towards the end (and considering its apparent success, I doubt this season is the last we'll see of it).

I mean I had to get past the first 2 seasons for FMP to get as good as people said, I think I can wait until the end of 1 season for this series to get above a 7/10 series, especially since this series hasn't gotten to anything even resembling a traditional anime story arc.

I kinda like how relaxing the series is. Maybe because the last new anime I watched was SSY and I NEEDED THIS AFTER SSY.

It changes it from what Parkur seemed to take it as (you like something others don't!) into what I intended (every aspect of it that he praises gets knocked by most). I wouldn't just make fun of a differing opinion, but when each and every aspect is taken at a different perspective... it's just rather odd.

What success? It hasn't sold any Blurays or DVDs yet. You can only be basing this off of what you're seeing online, which would make SSY a blockbuster smash. However, it did not sell many Blurays or DVDs. And unlike SSY, it cannot be used to merely boost sales of the original medium, since it's an original series.

Not really, not to the extent I'm expecting from this series. It's thinking some major unexpected stuff to happen towards the end in some way, at least I believe so. Like, maybe School Days level of the ending overshadowing everything. Could be wrong but that's what I think will happen.

My quick thoughts-

I never gave up on Gargantia, hella people were jumping ship and being like urobuchi's influence wasn't going to encompass the series besides being series composition director. PEOPLE. HE IS A MASTER TROLL. How have you forgotten?! Shit's good yo, I like it. That Amy lapdance was retarded though, I highly anticipate Amy and Bebel to get sliced and diced, I can't wait!

Kyojin is a good series. The first couple episodes were amazing, AOTY-tier no doubt. HOWEVER, I feel like it can only go downhill from now. I enjoyed the desperate struggle of humanity vs kyojin, a nearly undefeatable foe, and the cruel face of humans. But, recently it's gotten some interesting plot developments, and I feel like it's going to change how the series was the first 5-6 episodes. I want a human's struggle...not this scifi BS. It takes alway a lot of the themes and struggles present.

Eh, I really don't think Gargantia is going to change that much. Urobuchi's been saying the entire time that this won't be like his usual works, so don't expect anything more grimdark than what we just got.

And I agree with ranger on Titan only being able to go downhill from here. I preferred the first episodes where it was just man vs monster. Now that it's essentially Gundam with monsters, eff it.

and even if it's not entirely dark, I'm expecting something interesting to happen towards the end. Or maybe Bioshock Infinite's ending overshadowing that entire game (which also had heavy amounts of foreshadowing) is why I'm thinking that will happen. I do think that I would have the same opinion of "finale overshadowing everything" at this point even if I didn't know who was involved with it. This series has been mostly build-up and foreshadowing after all.

Titan definitely shifts a bit, but it doesn't just become Gundam/Big Bad Monster Brawling. Everyone else still gets their fair share of spotlight as the plot goes on.

Halo Legends. It's quite good. The feels in three of the shorts!!!!!!! One of them also reminded me of DBZ. And the two anthology tales were good. I liked the casting for Cortana. The last one had GREAT animation too. You should see it if you have played even one game of the series.
