Check the spoiler cbox (click on DC Spoilers to the left <-- ) for scans.
Spoiler:
This seems to have the makings of a better Kid case than what we've had before, but knowing what's happened before, I'm not getting my hopes up. Plus, we get the reappearances of characters that haven't shown up since practically the beginning of the series. The English translation will help my comprehension I lot, but I have several questions that I hope somebody can answer:
1. Why is Makoto with Jirokichi's guards?
2. What does Kid say to Sonoko? found in cbox
3. Why do Makoto and Tomoko not get along?

For me, that's all that I'm most curious about, so I hope someone with an understanding of Chinese can provide a translation of the scenes in question.

Knowing the truth and knowing what to do with the truth are two completely separate ideas. Learn to distinguish them. OR ELSE.

Spoiler:
1:I think Jirokichi is looking for someone to guard the treasure against Kid and Sonoko volunteered Makoto. I wouldn't rule out Makoto volunteering himself after hearing Sonoko address Kid as "Kid-sama".
3: I think Makoto and Tomoko don't get along because Tomoko want Sonoko date someone in her class:e.g the heir of another large corporation much like her sister.

Fun fact : last time we saw Sonoko's mom (volume 16 or episode 76) and dad (movie 3) was in the 20th century. ^^

It was so long ago that I thought that Sonoko's mom has never been introduced before... :-X

I'd love to see how is Gosho going to make Kid win whithout making Makoto look less cool :D
Or may be Kid will win splendidly making Makoto eager for a rematch ;D
I don't know which scenario I like better but I really think it will be a very nice story :)

Spoiler:
And we have to bets... Makoto is probably betting to catch Kaito or leave Sonoko alone but what will Kid want from Sonoko? He has a plan but i have no idea what she has to do.

a twist to this would be that Kid disguised as Tomoko as well, but not necessarily. If that was really her mom I wonder what bet she proposed, most likely about catching Kid and then allowing him to marry Sonoko. As for Kid's bet(s), he clearly has a plan in dealing with Makoto, it'll be the classic brains vs. strength battle here. Kid knows he can't take him on. Even if Makoto isn't that wise, he has the fighter's intuition at his side

I wonder if Kid is going to disguise as Sonoko, seems like something he would like to do.

Spoiler:
Knowing Gosho's love for unnecessary drama and cheesy romantic plots, this could actually be one of the best couples related case in DC. The settings are there, but I wonder if Gosho will use them properly.

Oh, but I doubt it's going to be a good Kaito Kid case, since the romance part is more important this time around. At least Kid isn't just a plot device and he's actually kinda related to Sonoko.

Oh no, I'm getting my hopes up. :-X

Spoiler:
I don´t think you actually understand how much more drama this series could have
We would get arcs and arcs about Conan questioning himself for not being there for Ran
Actually what I got from your post, you actually want that dontcha?

Not that special chapter for me... It was long though read it for about 2 hours (Yeah, I know)
Makoto has a fine personality and the ending with Kid and his jammer was actually very good, the scene was nothing special in itself
Kaito appearing with his back towards the moon, the moon wasn´t full though so that in itself is actually pretty interesting that Gosho didn´t make it Full for Kaito... But I did like the jammer thing it´s easy and effective kinda like the way Amuro got Kogoros password.

I understand very well just how much drama one can painfully inflict at any sort of fiction. Different writers would have tackled this series in a different way, but we're talking about Gosho, and his style of drama is very familiar to us already, and there are stuff we know he won't pull.
We would get arcs and arcs about Conan questioning himself for not being there for Ran
If this series took itself (and the story's implications) more seriously, and if its audience wasn't shonen, and if this was more of a romance series than mystery, sure, we could get that (we did kinda get that in the past, though, in one of the cases, so you could have chosen a bit more extreme example). Anything can be dramatized to the extreme, so I'm not sure what your point is.
Actually what I got from your post, you actually want that dontcha?
Hahaha, no. I'm actually fairly vocal against stuff that Gosho does sometimes, and his dramatic moments often feel forced and they're "drama for the sake of drama". I wouldn't be against more drama in Conan as long as Gosho can execute it well, but as it stands, I don't think this series needs more drama.
In all honestly, I don't understand why you took my post in that direction, but oh well.
I was merely praising the settings of the case and that Gosho could potentially make this couple case interesting. Just to clarify, what I tried to imply is that I hope for a resolution, something the majority of the DC romance plots desperately need.
