The snow is back for us. We thought it was gone. It's BAAACK! DX

...It's not laying as deep as before, at least, but it's persistant. It hasn't stopped for two days, but at least it's light.

The snow is expected to start today and go into tomorrow...you know, Saturday, when we have no classes. >:|

yep. Funnily enough, my campus (which normally never closes due to snow for some reason), is already closed for today even though nothing's started yet pretty much.

Luckily for me, I don't have classes today anyway so it's a great big waste of a day off for me.

In England it snowed on Christmas Day - very rare here

Beginning of January it snowed alot and our school was closed for an extra 3 days due to snow - snow days almost never happen in England

England reached a staggering -21 degrees - i swear we never even went lower than -5 until now

I had to go to school when there was still alot of snow and it was -12, just wtf why? It was soooo cold

All my classmates and teacher were like 'omg this has never happened before, this is so cool' - but erm... isn't this a sign that we're all screwed?

Conclusion: we're all gonna die by 2012 D:

You get days off because of snow?
*sigh*
The only time something like that happened was about 5 years ago, when the heating ceased working...

But honestly, even if we had 1m of snow, I don't think we would get a day off - since public transport can not be stopped that easily - although missing would probably be tolerated.
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

There will possibly be MOAR on Tuesday. ;)

If the roads are bad enough (too much snow, black ice, etc.), yes.  Normally doesn't happen unless it poses a risk going to school.  If it's moderately bad/mild, there may be a delay or something.

We get off if the snow is deep enough to pose a traffic hazard (because over half of the students get the bus in), if it gets to the point where there's a grit shortage (because the rest walk up to a mile and a half to school and when the residental areas aren't gritted, the ice can be so bad that there have been slipping incidents requiring hospitalization in the past) or if it's so cold that the school's water pipes or heater burst (because while they never turn the heating on in the winter ANYWAY, they're legally obliged to close the school if the heating isn't working). Also, excessive numbers of absences blamed on colds and flus are tolerated when it's snowy.

yeah well, the last time England had this much snow was probably like 80 years ago (it has never ever been this cold either)

it was amusing seeing how many parts of England were running out of grit and we don't exactly have vehicles to plough the snow since we usually don't get that much snow.

there was quite alot of cases where people died of being trapped in their houses without central heating - or locked out of their house and froze outside.

EDIT: lol manga beat me to it
