Why?  Because the tabloids of Sankaku and the trolls of 2ch say so?  Please.  She's not the "breakout star" she was 10 years ago, but no one really retains that level of popularity without being in one of the huge series like Dragonball or Naruto.  She still gets work, just not much.  And guess what?  A lot of that is due to her whole management changing that's been going on for the last 2 years or so.  She's still popular in the west, if nothing else, so her career is far from "over".  Just "not what it  used to be".

Haven't Haruhi's light novel sales seriously stagnated?

No.  Last novel sold like, 2 million copies or something (1 million for alpha, 1 million for beta).  It's just that it's been the only release in the past 3 years or something, and there's no date for the next novel.

What we need is another season of Seikon no Qwaser.

Really? If the anime isn't doing well then having a series of OVAs isn't something that will happen too.

Well...this arc turned out to be slightly more sophisticated than any prior arc.

And Cobra is a "seventh ranger". I guess it's good he wasn't forgotten, but it could have used some more foreshadowing (unless there was something I missed)

FT's been quite predictable as of late. Ever since 7 of the dragons appeared, I would have guessed that Cobra would have his appearance sooner or later since he's the 7th Dragon Slayer. It's quite amusing how his looks is the same from the Zentopia arc which is a filler in the anime.
