Well, whatever is, I don't think it's too major; Conan didn't look nervous when he was asking her, so he's not apprehensive at how she would respond. I still hope it's something good though...

or at least the second part has a big impact on the one he's talking to. Maybe he wanted to ask her to come stay at Shinichi's place . Anyway, since the old man was just killed they will talk after the case is solved.

I don't know about you all, but the main draw for me right now, since my Chinese isn't up to par, is how Conan's going to solve the case with Sera looking over him. It's not like he can use the wristwatch, right?

I think he's going to solve normally, like when he's around Heiji. Maybe Sera could be also 'in' on the secret, that would be great.

I think at the end of the next case (846) it may have a few pages (or panels? ) showing a flashback scene, sort of like the NY case. Since this arc is Vermouth arc 2.0, it can happen.

That makes you realize why Yukiko didn't say anything about Okiya staying in their house and why it isn't a coincidence they worked together in the mystery train case.

Is there any other way to translate what Conan said? It doesn't seem like Conan and Sera could have ever met, it's more likely that Sera met Yukiko/Yuusaku in America and Yukiko told Shinichi about her, referring to her as "a girl with a fang." If Sera and Shinichi's parents were in contact as soon as three years ago, it seems like it would be hard for Conan to forget what she looks like.
Does anyone remember the time frame of Akai's actions after leaving the BO? Iirc, that was 5 years ago, but I thought I remembered something significant happening 2 years later, around the time that Sera would have moved to America. Don't really have the time to check now though
Also, in Yuusaku's first actual appearance when he kidnaps Conan he says he has powerful friends or something (don't remember what agency if he specified). Perhaps he was actually referring to Akai? It wouldn't be surprising that Conan doesn't know who these friends are.
EDIT: The line I'm asking about is the one that Conan thinks that he met her before, in case I wasn't clear. Although I'm not really sure why I'm questioning the possibility of them having met before, since I was wrote about it being possible in a previous post (or maybe on the cbox) >_<. Although I still don't think it would have been any time recently, it's still hard for me to believe that Conan would forget what she looked like or her name, unless the last time he saw her was a long time ago. So I'm sticking with my "Sera was a fan of Yuusaku's and through him she met little Shinichi" theory. Maybe she met Ran too, which is why she expects her to know how big her mom's breasts are? (Never thought I'd be using tits as evidence... )

As for that, we think it should be Japan because Sera thinks to herself 'that she's known Conan for a long time (real line is different, but this is what it indicates)'. The NY case, as you said, is a year ago and a year isn't really... a long time, especially if it could have been a brief meeting.

As for Akai, File 599 says he worked for the BO for 3 years between 2~5 years ago and received his codename 2 years prior to current timeline. And his cover was blown. That's all I could find, so right now, it looks like nothing really important happened 3 years ago.
File 51: Yuusaku says 'I've got friends in Interpol...' however it could be a translation error, not too sure. If it is the FBI though, it would make sense why Yukiko didn't react anyway with Okiya.
I'm sticking to the 'Shinichi saw/met Sera in Japan a long time ago when he was a kid and noticed that she had a fang but it was so long ago he forgot anyway until now' theory

Ah okay his cover was blown 2 years ago, I knew there was some sort of event that split those 5 years into 2 and 3, guess it was split the wrong way. I was thinking maybe Sera's going to America was related to that event, but she would have left before Akai's cover was blown so it can't be. And we can probably rule out that it was to protect her family, since we know the BO operates in America anyway so that would be pretty pointless.
As for the friends in Interpol thing, I wonder if it's possible that Gosho had originally wanted to involve Interpol but changed his mind and went with the FBI? Since (I believe, not really too sure) Interpol wouldn't have to be operating secretly in Japan, so using the FBI instead creates that element of secrecy. Not really too much of an error anyhow, if Yuusaku has friends in Interpol who's to say he can't have them in the FBI?
