Re: DC Question and Answer Thread - Have a question? Get an answer here
I've got several unsettling questions about various plot lines in DC:
(1) In the Haido City Hotel, Pisco recognized Ai as Sherry, even watching her re-shrink after temporarily expanding. When Conan inserted himself between Pisco and Ai, Pisco realized that Conan was the one directing the police presence at the hotel. One of the last things Pisco said was, "I have a general idea of [Sherry's] whereabouts." If Pisco had been allowed to continue that conversation along those lines, could he have been able to put two and two together and deduce Conan's true identity based on what he knew about Sherry and what he realized Conan had been doing?
(2) If Vermouth and Sherry were alone in a particular setting and no one else is around, Vermouth would not hesitate to pull the trigger on Sherry, right? In other words, is it only when Sherry is in the presence of one or more of her non-BO allies/associates that Vermouth will preserve the status quo? The reason I'm getting this impression is because: (1) During episode 345, Vermouth did not shoot Ai after Ran jumped in between them, and (2)

(2) More precisely, she doesn't want Ran, Conan or Yukiko to get hurt - Ran and Shinichi because of them saving her in the NY case (and because of what Shinichi said back then), and Yukiko because of her being close to Conan / Ran and because she learned disguising together with her (under KID's father).
The others are only protected in so far as they are close to Conan/Ran (whom she does not want the BO to take note of), and that the BO tries to avoid being "public" in any way.
Also, one should not underestimate the strength of her aversion to harming innocents, notable in the case of the kid who witnessed Kir's car accident (IIRC).

OK, here's another one:
Did Vermouth initially assume (like everyone else in the BO) that Shinichi was killed by APTX-4869, or did she suspect that Shinichi survived APTX-4869 long before seeing Conan & Ai at the Haido City Hotel?

AFAIK, there is no indication of that at any point, so likely she thought he was dead, too. That is, of course, assuming she knew he was poisoned at all.TML wrote: OK, here's another one:

ya, its as u said, she never knew that he was poisened until at one moment when she was disguised as araide (note at she took pics of him in the school festival and outsde, including ran). By then she could've guessed that he was drugged by APTX-4869, especially if she also used it.Callid wrote:AFAIK, there is no indication of that at any point, so likely she thought he was dead, too. To be fair, I think she disguised as Doctor Araide because she found out Shinichi and Shiho had shrunk and wanted a disguise that let her get close to the elementary school children. There would be no point to her disguising as a nurse in a school system otherwise, especially since she had no other mission she was supposed to be doing at the time that called for her to be a nurse. She most likely found out their identities when she saw the children at the mourning party or right afterward. (My money is during the mourning party because right afterwards she tells Vodka she isn't planning to go back to America because "something unsettling on her mind") Shinichi taking his glasses off and giving them to Haibara probably helped her out.MeiTanteiX2 wrote: ya, its as u said, she never knew that he was poisened until at one moment when she was disguised as araide (note at she took pics of him in the school festival and outsde, including ran). It is mentioned that Conan discovered Shiho Miyano's name during the Mermaid case (Episodes 222-224, Chapters 279-283). Can someone tell me exactly which scene that occurred? Was it somehow removed from the remastered version?

When they're looking through the registry of names of past visitors Shiho Miyano's name is listed. It probably was removed in the remastered version but you can definitely find this scene in the manga. (Volume 28, File 8, Page 12 to be exact.) I think I saw the original release of the episodes once because something in my mind is telling me Conan made the connection and then brushed it off as too strange for Shiho to have believe in something like the arrow. But I might be remembering incorrectly; it's been years.TML wrote: It is mentioned that Conan discovered Shiho Miyano's name during the Mermaid case (Episodes 222-224, Chapters 279-283). As I stated in my rewatch post, I watched the remastered version. Like I said, it's been years since I've watched the original version.A 10 of course. It’s a shame that the remastered version that I used for the rewatch cut out so much of the original episodes to fit into a one hour time frame. If you have a chance try to check out the original episodes.
