The murderer's primary motive was that she was sad nobody noticed that her teacher was trying to get revenge on Fuura by making his suicide look like a murder. She wished a great detective had come along to point this out. This seems to be why she not only got revenge by murdering Fuura, but by making his murder look like a suicide.
thanks, I think I understand now, but it is one of the worse motives I have ever read in DC
Every time I want to give up on DC, it manages to bring me back, it brings me back feelings I know that I will never ever feel or live again.

I'll humor you and concede the point. But what about the timing element? Granted, there are some high-class elevators I've never been on, but for a building like that, I do not feel it possible for the culprit to get away so quickly AND for the elevator to come down as it did.

Also - regarding the watch, I've seen those "automated" watches and while they run on a person's hand movement, they are usually build to withstand inactivity for a few hours. For the "victim's" watch to stop so near the time of death ... is too improbably. Unless, the watch itself was a very cheap model.

At least we both agree that the solution was disappointing.

Frankly, the "mystery" is just disappointing for me. Tablets to screen the whole thing? Sure the words hide the buttons and all, but what about the sound? That and the timing is just off IMO. Remember the early manga chapter? Almost as soon as they saw the guy "kill" himself, Heiji tried running up the stairs. The elevator came down quick enough for him to skip the trip.

There is NO realistic way that the murderer could get off the elevator and send it to the bottom floor in that time period. Even further, if "forensics" actually did do an inspection in that elevator, how come they didn't notice a lack of blood on the elevator door? A gun-shot in there should have spread SOMETHING on the door and with the board with tablets covering it, it would be missing.

Disappointing case this time. Hopefully, we'll have better luck with these vampires.

"river formation" and "Heiji's expression" ? Frankly, I'm more amused with Conan's expression of worry when he glanced at Heiji at that time. It was my most favorite panel in this case. :)

I don' think it was this disappointing.. for he elevator I think Gosho-sensei purposefully made the dramatic scene of heiji asking everyone about the stairs while they are too shocked to respond. I think that time is enough for the murderer to get out of the elevator -she might even be in the fourth floor- and since heiji has already pressed the button the elevator will instantly start coming down .. I think it is acceptable. I think editing the sound is not that hard.. she can even mute the tablets and run the gunshot sound from her phone at the desired time .

The sound should come from the tablets, it has to be synchronized with the 'being shot' film. And it should be possible to determine the time the elevator needs to accelerate from a given floor to the point the shot is supposed to show, so that the tablets can be started in time.

About the timing after the shot, I agree with no one (:P).
By the time Heiji knows where to run, the elevator can already be one floor higher and open the doors. Maybe it's a model that doesn't wait an eternity before closing the doors.

I have one of those automatic watches, and it wasn't cheap back then. It stops every now and then, definitely not compatible with sitting around a lot :(
If you shake that one for some seconds, it will not run longer than a few minutes.

(Btw, one real mistake: That cleaning robot looks like a 3rd generation roomba, which should not be able to learn the way it can go. Well, whatever.)

Looking forward to vampires XD

"The author will take next week off to gather information"

I take this to mean that gosho's going vampire hunting next week.
