That's just for Blueray. For DVD, region 1 is USA and Canada. Japan is in region 2, which also includes most of western europe, the middle east, and a few other places. The aforementioned Australia is in region 4, along with New Zealand, Mexico, and South America.Ctu wrote: I thought reg 1 covered japan as well? Or am I just wrong?
Why would the Japanese audio be affected by someone's opinion of the dub quality? The only time it gets the "short end of the stick" is on movies 3+, where it's merely not used to its utmost capabilities (ie: it's not 5.1 surround sound, but neither are the fansubs).BTW how is the Jap audio in the CC release? Is it just as good as the Japanese release or dose it get the short end of the stick for the bad dub?
when did i ever say that I was the greatest thing to happen to fansubs? (even though i am) and fansub groups that sub licensed anime wouldn't exist if the big companies weren't completely incompetent, and if they put time and care into their subs, when fansubs like dctp produce better quality subs than so-called "official subs" then you know there's a problemtantei okuoku wrote:thank you very much, I know many fans do buy the sets but you get some people like parkur and kor who think that fan subs are the greatest to happen to anime and them along with it, well newsflash you two they are not and neither are youNekoHaruko wrote: I'd buy them at FYE, but they are $50 each.. for season boxsets. so aside from no karaoke (it is arguable if it is a good or bad thing) what is so bad about the FMA brotherhood simulcast (note speed of releases can not be considered as well as the player that the episode runs on, and any region locking that must take place due to contracts)Parkur wrote:when did i ever say that I was the greatest thing to happen to fansubs? ...so instead of addressing my point (i was talking about Detective Conan) you just start talking about some other anime...wowtantei okuoku wrote:so aside from no karaoke (it is arguable if it is a good or bad thing) what is so bad about the FMA brotherhood simulcast (note speed of releases can not be considered as well as the player that the episode runs on, and any region locking that must take place due to contracts)Parkur wrote:when did i ever say that I was the greatest thing to happen to fansubs? How do you know that they didn't copy it ?tantei okuoku wrote: I know you are not region 1 kami
and kamikazee you know full well what I meant YOU CAN HOLD A DVD, try holding KNKF's episode 129 in your hand (no flash drive or anything of the sort, since you want to play loop holes)
Kami out of the 4 people I have lent my case closed dvds to, 3 out of the four have ended up BUYING THEM FOR THEMSELVES, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE KOR DO THAT. and they know if they copy my DVDs they WILL BE IN TROUBLE.
and I think the funimation releases are better then the fan subbers, DVD Quality, better sound quality (I love the third movie in surround sound),
DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THEY WILL CHANGE PEOPLES NAMES THIS LATE INTO THE GAME, HONESTLY locations they they sure did but PEOPLES NAME REALLY KAMIKAZE, location names they did change, BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW IT"S TO LATE TO CHANGE THE NAMES BACK. ARE JUST TRYING TO BE DIFFICULT.
AND I said easier to watch there NOT THAT I COULDN'T but I don't want to have to convert all my videos so I can play them on the PS3 KAMI
I am not to dctp yet and I have tried just putting them in there it does not work for meKamikaze wrote:How do you know that they didn't copy it ?tantei okuoku wrote: I know you are not region 1 kami

No, I don't expect them to change it, but that's not really a + in their book.
You don't have to convert all your vids to be able to play them on the PS3; PS3 supports both .mp4 and .avi.
So playing DCTP releases on it (SD or HD) ain't a problem.
anyway back to the topic that the R1 RELEASES of conan need more people to buy them. less then a buck a episode is not much at all.GinRei wrote: Hey, enough. We're not having another freaking sub versus SUB argument. No one is ever going to be convinced on either side, so just stop.
no because there are many people who need to see this, and case closed is the dub name, The sub name is detective conan that is what we are/where taking about.Parkur wrote: oh, and can someone change the name of the name of this topic to ATTENTION ALL CASE CLOSED FANS?
oh god, this is just like that one prank... I'm gonna spend ages looking for Region 3.GinRei wrote:That's just for Blueray. For DVD, region 1 is USA and Canada.
