I just watched that movie on my flight! I think the other passengers were giving me weird looks when I squealed at the in-flight movie selections. ^^U

Re: The Ace Attorney Thread
as I said on another forum, this confirms to me that everything Wright did in the last game was to steal his series back and now it's confirmed that he succeeded.

So long, Apollo. So long, Trucy. You guys were simply too good for Capcom.

Re: The Ace Attorney Thread
Trucy maybe, but I don't really know anyone who liked Apollo over Phoenix
I hope Winston Payne's brother/whatever relation this new guy has to Winston gets his hair blown off in the intro case this game as well.

You're replying to one of them.Akonyl wrote:Trucy maybe, but I don't really know anyone who liked Apollo over Phoenix

Not that I dislike Phoenix, he's a really good character. But Apollo is more believable in terms of "what kind of person ends up working in the law department", plus his supernatural ability wasn't all that supernatural to begin with, which does much better for my willing suspension of disbelief against PSYCHE LOCKS AND SHAPE-SHIFTING MEDIUMS.
He's also the lovable underdog who tries hard and is overly enthusiastic about stuff, without being a total idiot or overly hotblooded. I find his character simply PERFECT for the setting. Phoenix, uh... A little bit too airhead-ish IMO. Maybe this will change in GS5 after his sobering experience of defeat, but uh... I dunno.
Also Trucy was totally adorable and is tied with Ema as the lest obtrusive and annoying of all the sidekicks, IMO.

Yeah I like Apollo more than Phoenix as well, but if Phoenix has the same attitude he had in Apollo Justice, that's totally gonna change

Re: The Ace Attorney Thread
whatever, dudes. Phoenix 4 lyfe.
as far as sidekicks go though, yeah Trucy and Ema are probably among the best, but as far as this new one goes, as long as she doesn't have an insatiably love for hamburgers she'll probably end up being better than Maya even if she isn't the greatest
as for shape-shifting mediums, while it's certainly weird, it's set up pretty close to the beginning of the first game, and thus is kinda exempt from being "too outlandish" since it's part of the game's premise. It's like Detective Conan, if he started out the series as Shinichi and nothing supernatural happened until episode 300, where he got shrunken via APTX and turned into a kid, everyone would be like "WTF is this?". However, since it was introduced as part of the plot at the beginning of the show, the blatantly supernatural poison is forgiven even though there isn't a hint of anything else supernatural in the series.

well color me legitimately surprised, if they really are gonna make an English translation to the game.

I'll consider this a good first step for Capcom earning forgiveness from everyone on the planet.
