Well, if YOU think so ;)

But if Shiho wants to live her life as mini-Shiho again, then there would be no problem if she ends up with Mitsuhiko ten years later. (though I'm thinking that it wouldn't be right if she remains small)

What do you mean by "too generic", by the way?

Ehh she has nothing left to go back to as Miyano. Why bother? XD She gets a "father" (Agasa) A "sister" (Ayumi and/or Ran) and friends- something she seems to have lacked in her last childhood. It's kind of a given that she'll stay as Haibara- making her relationship with Mitsu-Mitsu all the better! x3

By generic I mean she's kind of the stereotypical stoic character. Dark past, witty, selfless, scared, has never really depended on others, ect...

That would be choosing the easy solution instead of assuming her responsibilities and facing her destiny.A good lesson to teach to the children who read DC.

Oh, and if Ai is generic for you, then I don't know how you qualify girls like Ran,Kazuha,Ayumi...

No, that would be choosing the option that makes her happy. If she has nothing to return to in her old life then why return to it when she has people who love and care about her no matter what already? Children don't pick up on themes like you're suggesting. :/ It'd be a happy ending for her to end up with Mitsuhiko- a loving caring boy who will protect her and shares her morals (for the most part).

Ran is generic- Kazuha is generic but not quite as bad as Ran. If she were as bad as Ran she'd live right next door to Heiji, never do anything wrong and be looked at as an "angel" if you would. xD

Ayumi is sort of generic but that's kind of just a regular child. She's the typical 1st grader. That's kind of a good thing, even if it IS overused. Ayumi hasn't really figured out who she is yet. xD

Well, Ai lived a second childhood during several months, that's enough. She can live happily with her true body and stay with Agasa, meet the DB and take care of them like a sister. She will never go back to the organization so her life will be better whatever the solution she takes.
DC is all about courage,so not being able to face her destiny and choosing to stay as a child in the end would be a waste in her character development.

Moreover I doubt she would like to stay under the effects of APTX while at the same time she thinks that drug shouldn't have been made(file 818).

Anyway this is just my opinion, since I'm a Ai/Shiho fan I'm pretty sure she is able to build a new life without being forced to lie about her past and her identity.I wouldn't be surprised if she stays as Ai in the end because it's easier for Gosho.

That's enough? Hold on... did you seriously just say a few months of a stolen childhood in comparison an entire life-time of pretty much nothing but pain and loneliness save for your DEAD SISTER... is enough?

Are you... serious? O_o

If she can already do that as Haibara WHY THE HELL would she even BOTHER?! XD

As Haibara she'll get to RELIVE HER LIFE- instead of starting off where she left off as Shiho. She can make new choices, have new experiences that only a child can have and even then some. Why go back?

Hold on... when did becoming Shiho become her destiny? You choose destiny- destiny does not choose you. She gets to choose whether she wants to return to a life in which she never had any experiences a child SHOULD have, or stay as a child and grow up again.

Her staying as a child wouldn't be a waste of her character development. In fact, it would open her doors up for NEW character development. Her character development has mainly been learning how to function in a place where the people are right in the head- where she doesn't have to worry about being killed at ANY given time. Her character development has been focused around depending on others and allowing people in besides her sister. I don't know what you define as courage- but that takes a CRAP ton of courage to learn how to do!

Even if she thinks the drug shouldn't have been made, it was... and she can count it as a blessing from a horrible situation.

Who says she would have to lie?

You can't just assume she wouldn't tell them. :/

Eventually she'd be able to tell her dearest friends the truth and with the way she is with them now I don't think she'll have a problem telling them when they're mature enough to accept it.

And when that time comes she'll probably be close enough to Mitsuhiko that that shared secret with their other two friends could start a romantic bond. :)

I concur.

Unfortunately, we don't really know too much about Ai's thoughts on romantic subjects. It's too early to tell.
Also, I really just can't see Ai and Mitsuhiko as a couple. Seems forced, almost as if it would be OOC for Ai.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I'd chose Okiya only if she really HAS to end up with someone. Plus, what happened to her sister is probably enough of a warning for her to stay away from romances.

WTF

I wouldn't pair Ai and Subaru AT ALL. IMO that is creepier and more messed up than pairing up Ai and Mitsuhiko (which I do LOL).
Spoiler: Sadly, my reason to think this is A SPOILER for whoever isn't familiar with the manga!
I mean, HE'S HER DEAD SISTER'S BOYFRIEND. WHAT THE FLYING PIGS. Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope

Exactly why *I* don't support them. :I

That's just... it's awful.

Sera seems the type of person who could be paired with either gender pretty well actually :-X.
Hmm... if Haibara and Ayumi grow up again together, then I could see some weird semi-friendship, semi-romantic thing about them (of course Ayumi'd have to mature a bit first, but I think part of why Haibara sorta likes her as a friend now is because of her innocence and friendliness towards her). Like the female version of bromance *_*

Poor, poor Mitsuhiko.

Actually, that happened to me once. I was interested in 2 girls that came out of the closet and hooked up with each other. My heart was broken, and my mind was blown.

They're still together.

I'm still alone.
