He's fine now. Actually, he still has to go into the hyperbaric chamber. My dad works in construction (he lays pipes). Anyway, he was exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide.mangaluva wrote:D: What happened? Is he okay?Jecka wrote: My mom just got a phone call telling her that my dad's in an ambulance.

Right now the problem is his blood, getting home, and trying not to think about the fact that my sis and I are staying home by ourselvesKaito Lady wrote:hope he recovers soonJecka wrote:He's fine now. Just found out today that possibly one of the most important e-mails of my life got sent to the junk folder, despite any and all other e-mails from the same place were sent to my inbox

As soon as I figure out who is responsible for there being no ibuprofen at all in the house this morning, I am going to kill them. I had to go to Tesco's to buy some, in agony all the way, and then got strange looks from the teller when I swallowed two the second I'd paid for the box and my bottle of water.

My left leg has been hurting ever since I slipped on the wet concrete yesterday and fell... At least I know it's not broken.

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
So a week ago, I was assigned an issue at work which was previously fixed by another guy, but failed when it went into testing. I took a look at the logs we were given to see what was up.
me: "Hmm, looking at the logs, it only failed in the cases where Thing A was the case. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?"
*goes over to ask a guy about it because I'm not familiar with that section of the code*
me: "Hey, is it possible that if Thing A happens, Bad Thing B will happen as a result?"
guy 1: "Nah, that doesn't make any sense. Doing Thing A shouldn't do that, the problem is somewhere else."
me: "Hmm, alright"
*goes off to have a tester guy try to reproduce the issue, but it works for us*
*ask the people who got it to fail for a retest, get back more fail data*
me: "Hmm, this is still weird. I guess I'll talk to the guy who originally did the fix about it."
guy 2: "I totally tested it and it worked fine, and if you can't get it to fail either I bet their configuration's just messed up."
me: "Hm, alright. I was also thinking it might be possible that maybe because you did it this way, Thing A would happen and then cause Bad Thing B?"
guy 2: "It shouldn't, there's no reason we'd do that, makes no sense."
*spends an entire week basically waiting on retests from the people who can get it to fail and trying to get it to fail ourselves, but can't*
*today, finally manages to retest it with another guy, and finds out that it is, in fact, Thing A that is the problem because it causes Bad Thing B"
me: "Hey, I found the bug"
guy 1: "Oh, really?"
me: "Yeah, it was Thing A, which caused Bad Thing B."
guy 1: "Oh yeah, that makes sense. Doing Thing A can have some weird behavior sometimes."
me: "... ... ... ..."
YOU SAID A WEEK AGO THAT IT DIDN'T MAKE SENSE JHSDFKHSDJFNSJ NBF SBNJHB
and then I had to stay at work for an hour later than usual because I had to discuss it with another guy, who then pointed out some other bugs regarding that code which were weird and had to be addressed and I hate everything that surrounds this issue ;__;
