That is called poor parenting.  If a father owns a gun, he ought to teach his kids about them - including how to not shoot them.
Aside from just owning the gun, how is the father responsible for the teen shooting people? Parenting can only do so much; at some point that teen sure as hell better be taking responsibility for his own actions. Blaming the father's parenting for the teen shooting people is pretty ridiculous.

Not sure how this works out in the US, but in Germany, you have to have any gun you own locked away in a safe. So, if the child does get h. hands on the gun, the father is to blame.
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

Same in Sweden

What I'm saying is that it is the responsibility of the parent to teach the child how to behave responsibly.  When the teen runs off and shoots people, the parent is to blame for not teaching the teenager better.  The teenager should still accept responsibility for his/her own actions.

Unless he just leaves them out like trophies.  Then he's being irresponsible with a dangerous item.  It'd be like hanging sharpened knives from the ceiling because the sparkle.

Also, until the teen is of a certain age, anything they do is the responsibility of the parents.

I'm still saying that blaming the parents for the teen being a murdering psychopath is pretty out of line, considering a lot of times there's something mentally wrong with murdering psychopaths that no parenting, no matter how good, can fix. Blaming that on the parents is ridiculous.

And any teen with half a brain can figure out where to find a key or whatever if the parent does keep them locked away. Short of the father swallowing the key, really not much to be done there either.

If the parent is aware of the teenager's condition, considerations should be made toward that end: such as not keeping guns in the house if necessary.  It's the parent's responsibility to take care of that child until they are legally an adult.  For so long as that teenager is under someone else's guardianship, it is the responsibility of that guardian to take preemptive measures where there are firearms in the house.

And if the parent isn't aware?

Then that's a different matter entirely.  You can't prepare for something you're unaware of.

I found out that my best friend Lestat kissed my girlfriend's cheek DX I mean sure, he's engaged but he still knows that both Bel and me are very possessive and if I kissed his fiance's cheek he'd be really mad :| What the hell >:(
Worst thing is that since we don't meet so often our relationship goes forward slowly so I haven't kissed her at all D: Though I'm going to next time >__<
But my anger went over to laughter when we started talking about Lestat's length since Bel had to lean over to hug him (that's when Lestat kissed her cheek but she shoved him away~)

Also, sprained my ankle on the way to the store, I lost my balance and scraped my knee as well and now it hurts whenever I move my leg D:
