Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files 825-827 "Tennis Mee

I'm a bit confused that Conan suddenly seems to know everything about Okiya. What did I miss? Or am I just misunderstanding the spoilers?

Is it bad I really want Conan to be suspected? It's not at all likely considering he looks like a 7 year old, but it'd just be so awesome I find myself hoping for it anyway.

At the very least though, we'll probably having him being used in the trick. I have a feeling him being in the room is somehow important to the murderer's plan this time around.

If I'm not mistaken, the rightmost word balloon on the leftmost panel of that page is pointing to that guy. So I deduce that it's the guy talking.

Nah, I think that's just dodgy drawing, though I thought so too at first. Anyway, for someone covered in blood, not making any other sounds (groans or general in pain noises) he's awfully talkative. If he was in that state it's not really possibile for him to get out too much speech at a time, plus why's Conan in the shot when it'd be much clearer to have a close-up on him talking? And again, Conan has yelled loads of times before when trying to stop people from damaging a crime scene.

Spoiler: Things I'm wondering about (a few of the spoiler pics are in here)

First of all, why is Amuro looking so worried here? He wasn't all that worried when Conan was kidnapped. Maybe it's because Conan actually got hurt (whereas with the kidnapping he would only be hurt if they called the police). I have a feeling it's definitely related to Vermouth's promise. "My policy is not to hurt children, and so long as I'm helping you, you can't let any children be hurt either" is probably along the lines of what Vermouth said.

EDIT: I also love how there are actually people worried about Conan in the stands. ...Though, with how many times Kogoro has punched him (no doubt in the same spot) I'm surprised he actually got knocked out .3.



Little notes about the body:

• Only his left sandal is on
• Tennis racket is under him
• Glasses are off
• His body seems to be in an odd position
• How did the vase end up where it is if it supposedly killed him?

...I have a feeling I'm going to like this case :x

I definitely think the promise related to keeping Conan out of harm's way, but I wonder how Vermouth phrased it and if it covers Ran as well?

I was amused that Amuro literally pushed Ran out of the way to get to Conan first. In light of what Amuro did as Scar Akai, Gosho seems to have this parallel going between Okiya looking out for Haibara and Amuro somewhat watching out for Conan. At least Amuro doesn't stalk Conan though... that we know about. >_>

Also, if Okiya was hacking Haibara's phone, did he listen in all on her phone conversations, or just swipe her messages? Either way Haibara needs to give him a piece of her mind, now that she knows she can safely do so because Okiya is on team Shin-chan.

When looking through the spoilers, I noticed that the three suspects of the case (their names and ages were given) had their foreheads covered when the were introduced, they aren't during/after the murder. This may be an important clue, anyone?

One woman has bangs, one woman has a bandage(?) and one man has a headband(?).


On the other note, I was wondering what Agasa said to Conan when Ai left at the beginning of the chapter. All I see are '.<
