Nine Monkeys Tori Man Case (716-718?)

I have a funny feeling that this is yet another code and the letters of nine and monkey hold major clues.

#1 suspicious - Mizunoe because he still had his ID after having his wallet stolen.  Also, for some reason couldn't find his receipt for the bento he bought at the convenience store <-- this should not be a throwaway point!

#1 reason the stabbed guy is the Tori-Man - there was no indication that his identification had been in someone else's bag.

I was thinking about the receipt more and perhaps this is what happened...

anyone think Sonoko's hint to Conan seemed kinda badly done? I mean i know Conan always needs a hint to solve cases, but this time i find it way to random and open, 'why is koshien stadium called koshien stadium?'
i know it's related to what Kogoro said before but it's just like a really random question to be asked by a girl who probably has no interests with baseball or w/e.
or maybe it was done by Sonoko by purpose  - because to me that awfully looked like one of those Conan moments where he asks questions in order for Kogoro/whoever to figure something out.

Agreed. It was totally blatant hinting. I rolled my eyes when I read that part... a little more subtlety on Gosho's part would have been nice, but since he has a page limit, he probably just had to squish it in...

That did seem utterly random to me... I was just like "where did that come from??" I mean, when there's a purse snatcher about and a guy's nearly died, do you really go asking after random trivia? Unless you're Conan trying to help the cops get a clue.

OK, 718 is out by Heiji-sama. My thoughts:

I thought things would go alot more differently. At first I was thinking Ran would play the damsel in distress and Conan would swoop in to save her and Sonoko would come in and be, "Oh no, we got our tickets switched. whoopsie." But that didn't happen. We'll have to wait for translation. But we certainly haven't seen Ran kicking ass in a while.  I thought Gosho forgot Ran could do karate...
