I watched the 1. episode of Conan on a German TV station , RTL2.
I couldn't remember when that was , but thanks to the power of GOOGLE, I found out that the 1. episode of Conan aired in 2002 on RTL2.
After the first episode I was totally addicted and here I'm now a proud DC fan for more than 7 years :D
It's a shame that RTL2 turned from a station that showed anime 5 hours a day to a station for stupid cartoons :( , but i guess it can't be helped...

On gma 7(Phil channel)

My first episode is when Kogoro was first interviewed and he say he dont remember his case. The dubbed ver changed some of the important one since it's really bad to teach some Philippine kid some kanji rather than Roman Alpahbet hahaha. I thought DC ended when Heiji appears and give him that alcohol. Then watched alot of episodes on youtube up to 490(skipped some) then saw the advertisement on one of the youtube vid and saw dctp.ws then joined here.

First... eh, I'm not sure what the first episode I saw was. I read the manga for about six months before I saw the anime... I think I watched the movies before any of the anime, TBH. Might's been episode 76. Kid-sama! ♥

A friend introduced me to DC Fansubs :) Then I started watching DC in detectiveconan.us . I registered in this forum while I finished watchind epi 520 in DC.US because I saw here I could download the new aired episodes. After that, DC.US came down, so I got into DCTP :)

just like kat1214young-san, it was in one of the local channels, GMA7. One Saturday in my 4th grade life, I saw an ad for DC. I thought it was interesting and promised myself I would watch once Monday comes. But when I was watching the part where Shinichi was saying why he wanted to be a detective, my mom grabbed the remote and changed the channel.  >:(  :'(

Couple of weeks later, I turned on the TV when I was bored and DC was on!!! My first case was the diplomat case. I didn't actually care about the case Shinichi was talking about, all I cared was what he said when he was talking to Ran. When the whole thing was over, I was like "Is the high schooler and the shrunken guy together or something?" then I googled DC. Then I started getting addicted to ShinRan, catching up on the episodes, writing fanfiction and the like until now!
Spoiler:
They hatched!!! I'm a mom!!!!

The first episode?

Well, usually I read the manga before I watch the anime. But because I read it at the library, I normally read the books that are present, and therefore I sometimes miss important parts (for example, I knew that Araide is Vermouth all along, but didn't know what happened in Desperate Revival after Conan was brought to hospital). To fill up my gaps I decided to download and watch the anime after I finished "Hikaru no Go" and "Hunter X Hunter".

The first episode I watched, lying on my bed with my laptop placed on my DINA2-history-book and wearing headphones, was therefore episode 1, downloaded from YouTube (after serching around for high quality (not Youtube HQ, but really HQ)), at the evening of the 5.5.2009.

Oh lets see.... I believe the first time I ever saw Conan was at the beginning of winter break my sophomore year... so December 2008.  I had just arrived back home from college and had found at that my family had gotten some additional television channels.  I was flipping through them when I realized that there was a Funimation channel.  So of course I immediately flipped to it.  Case Closed happened to be on at that time.  It was near the end of that episode where we meet Shinichi's parents for the first time.

I thought it was pretty good and was interested by it but I didn't actually look it up online for a week or so.  In that time I had started to watch Case Closed whenever it came on the tv.  After awhile of doing that I looked it up and watched it.  I've been hooked ever since.

How I got to DCTP was a little different.  I started out watching at detectiveconan.ws but then I learned what a douche the owner of the site actually is so I came here and am much happier.
Are we supposed to write how we got to DCTP as well?

Well, in my case at first I downloaded all episodes from Youtube (see above), however, the uploader I used, xkhayenx, had only uploaded the episodes up to number 153, but he provided a link with further episodes he uploaded to Megaupload. However, they also stopped around 240.
At that time I got familiar with another uploader, vodkastoffi (who uploaded episodes by request, without order). After a time I asked him where he got the episodes from and he told me about this forum (or, more precise, this topic). I later started to use the IRC because it's faster, and that's where I am now.

How I found DCTP? That was... feels like a short while ago, but I guess it was six or seven months ago. I was vaguely aware of its existence from reading the fanscans on OneManga, and then I was talking to some friends on YouTube about movie 13 subs, and somebody said that DCTP was working on it... I thought DCTP was a YouTube username, I kept searching for them  :D :D Then I googled it and found the site. It was a while before I joined the forums, but i'm glad i'm here  ;)

for DC, I watched Case Closed back when it was on Adult Swim.

for DCTP, years later (around summer this year), I came across downloads to the first 106 episodes of DC by Anime-Conan and started to watch them. Then I realized I still liked the show a lot, and set off to find episodes 107+, which brought me to TheQuyen's topic here via google.

I watched the first 60-something episodes when they first aired in my country, during the year 2000. But they stopped airing it after those episodes. Years later I saw some random episodes got hooked again, and later read the whole manga. As for this site, I don't remember, but I guess I arrived via Google.

saw an episode back in the dizzay on adult swim, i was like "wtf", kid with grown-up voice.  Never watched it again.

Many years later, my friend says he's watching a show about a kid detective.  I go "I remember that"!.

MANY YOUTUBE VIDEOS LATER....

Dub -- > sub transition, "man conan's voice is way too low.  Can't read these damn subs..."  (it was my 1st subbed anime, I dont watch much..ok?)

Friend stops watching because of the length of the show.  I continue...

even more youtube videos later...I catch up, find this site from a friend on youtube.

Funi starts releasing DC movies.
sub --> dub transition "man conan's voice is way too high.  God this acting is awful".

My DC Experience
Just like most of the Pinoys (if not all), I 1st experienced DC via GMA 7 local airing... I wasn't that totally hooked until my family bought a DVD player... At 1st, I bought some DC movies and Episode 1-99 (bootleg copies ofcourse) in Divisoria Mall... Then I became really super addicted to anime because of the DVD player especially on DC... Every other week or every month during my last year in college and during my preparation for my licensure examination, I tend to go to Quiapo to check on new DC DVD release... Since it's bootleg, there are some repetitions of episodes per release... But it's cheap so that's fine with me. I shifted from DVD to downloading now that I have a decent internet access...

Now I'm currently on the crusade of completing all DC anime episodes, DC manga chapters, DC OVAs, DC Movies, DC Specials,etc...

===============================================
My DCTP experience
It was the peak of the slack season... I had nothing to do... I joined a site only for DC (not this site) but it's a ghost town (even now probably)... Then I joined an anime in general site (a4) but only few threads are dedicated to DC (most of the time they are dead threads) so I decided I might as well join another DC site...

Google brought me here! The name DCTP was familiar... I thought I saw it in 1 of my downloaded DC episodes... After quite some time, I forgot I already joined here... I kept posting on A4 but not on DCTP then suddenly one day I remembered I had an account here so I posted once again and found the Filipino thread (my favorite DCTP thread). I became more active and even created my own threads as time gone by...
