Dear God, no! Heiji is barely tolerable as an occasional guest star.

The "Shrunken Detective' isn't an arc, it's basically the entire plot. Without it and the BO, it'd basically be an anime version of CSI or some other crime procedural with a random villain of the week. Furthermore if he wasn't a child 99% of the cases would be far too simple as he wouldn't need to maneuver in ways that conceal his true identity. They'd basically all end as quickly as the rollercoaster beheading case.

Even if detective conan ends, i think gosho would then focus on the magic kaito series. They're similar in ways they set out a story and both have a detective element to it, but i don't think it'll end any time soon.

I feel that Aoyama won't continue on anything much longer after when DC ends. He may round off MK, but it's just as likely that'll just be left in the hands of the anime. Personally, I'm thinking he'll retire after finishing DC, but that's just my opinion .

Ha ha yea that's Skullduggery Pleasant just started reading it and I am loving it.
And yea i agree but i think he would outline the organisation and some events that should happen in MK but leave the rest to the anime, also after 15 years (I think?) of doing detective conan he probably want to retire, being a mangaka is really hard work after all

Yay, I finally have internet again!  It took 2 months since moving back to Japan, but yay!

Anywho, even though I really like Heiji's character, I think a spinoff series about him would be kind of boring.  With Conan it's a bit more interesting because he's in a situation where he has to be creative to relay info and solve cases.  Heiji doesn't have to do that.
