D: I'm with Akonyl; it just bored me a little (not enough to where I hate it or anything, but enough to make me not really care for it). Plot-wise I felt myself losing interest, and I didn't feel like anyone had enough stage presence to keep me focused on the characters either.

I thought Thor did better playing off the other Avengers than he did on his own. I liked him in the new movie. Loki, too. (Felt the same about Chris Evans too, btw, though I liked Captain America better than Thor.)

Edit: I'm hoping so hard that the new Spider-Man won't suck. Spider-Man has been my boyfriend favorite Marvel hero since I was six and I want so much for him to have a good line of movies. ;_;
Spiderman desperately needs a good series.  The new one looks like it'll be pretty good.
yeah, since it also seems to keep the "spidey makes jokes that he really shouldn't" side of things, which wasn't very present in the previous trilogy.
I'm interested in the new Spidey movie. The way I felt about the last trilogy was pretty much the way most people seem to feel about Thor- it just didn't grab or interest me at all. And it didn't make me like Peter as a character. The new movie seems to be going in some new directions, though, particularly concerning the origins of Spiderman, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that works out.

But he also has sneaker soles on the bottom of his outfit, glowing web shooters, and emo-hair.

It's not really going in a new direction with his origin, it's just not sticking to the origin that was from his debut comics.  It's bringing in the stuff about his parents which didn't show up for 10-20 years after he had been established as a hero.  Note: this is also used in the Ultimate Spider-man Origin I believe.  As long as they don't go with the J MS "Spider Totem God" bullcrap I'll be fine with it.

I gotta say, after Avengers, I'm really interested in filling my brain with Marvel knowledge, but I have no idea where to start :X

Also I had no idea there was a new Spiderman movie, they shows a dark knight trailer before the movie, you'd think they would've put Spiderman's thing in there too

And what exactly is everyone's problem with Spiderman 3? I thought the dark suit thing was great and pretty much fawned over the whole movie, but most of the fanbase condemned it for reasons that honestly escape me

Same :x I'm settling for starting with a random selection of Hulk comics that my local library has. Maybe I should just go into Forbidden Planet and pick up some comics. I aspire to be a geek of broader scope than just anime, manga and Nintendo!

SPiderman 3, just..isn't a good film Parkur.  It just simply isn't.  I can't really say more.  Someone else elaborate, it's like so bad I don't even know where to start.

The new Spider-man looks somewhat interesting, I like Mary Jane.

Also, Western comic book lore is like, the hardest thing to follow.  I'm too lazy, and not really that interested in it.

I know that I've seen Spiderman 3, I just can't remember a damn thing about it aside from that Peter Parker was being a douche and I felt like there was an interesting concept that was being very badly handled. I think my brain erased all other memories for my own safety.

Was she in the blonde in Spider-man 3? Or is that Black Cat?  Anyways, Peter Parker's got too many babes

Overly emo-Parker would be a mistake, but overly doofus-Parker was a mistake too, so at least if this one gets it wrong, it looks like it'll get it wrong in a different way from the existing movies.

I've been hearing vague things about Iron Man 3 and China--not sure if they're just filming in China or if part of the movie will actually be set in China, but
Spoiler:
if they're intending to make The Mandarin the villain, I hope they're prepared to step lightly with regard to PC. :P

Then again, they've already done the Middle East and Russia, so maybe the point's moot by now.
Also,
Spoiler: Movie-verse fanwork

These are both inappropriate and hilarious:

Superman = Captain America > Aquaman = Hal Jordan > Wonder Woman > Barry Allen > Thor > Martian Manhunter > The Hulk > Wasp > Hawkeye > [power gap] > Iron Man = Batman > [power gap] > Hank Pym

I just spent a lot of time laughing at those comics and felt like I shouldn't :x Also, Hawkeye was deaf?
Spoiler:
It's confirmed that the movie's going to be about the Mandarin. In an interview, somebody mentioned that they weren't sure what to do about the ten rings because in this universe just having magic rings doesn't quite work. Then again, Stane had that sonic stunner thing, so they could go with the Doctor Who explanation of "IT CAN CONTROL YOUR MIND/START FIRES/ANYTHING BECAUSE IT'S SONIC!"

Also, have some cats.

Yes, she was the blonde in Spider-Man 3.  However, they obviously didn't follow continuity in those movies, since she's his first true love, and it isn't until after her that Mary Jane comes around.

From what I've heard, they do intend for the Mandarin to be the villain, BUT they aren't calling him the Mandarin.

Well, they do seem to be avoiding using the various comic book names. Vanko was never called anything except Ivan Vanko, Blonsky was never directly referred to as "Abomination" and Stane was never directly referred to as "Iron Monger" in his suit. I don't think Red Skull was actually called that in-movie either.
