I get the feeling that many people open up new threads about stuff that has already been discussed or is being discussed somewhere on the forum already. Most often, they couldn't find the right thread with the Search-function or the Search-function didn't show it.

Why don't we make a thread where one can post their question/theory/whatever (paraphrased) and either someone directs them to the right thread or, in case there isn't a suitable thread already, they are free to open up a new one?

For smaller questions there is also the Question and Answer-thread.

It's not like there are dozens of new pointless threads. If someone happens to make a thread about stuff that already exists, people tell him/her and a mod locks the thread. I don't see the point of having a thousand new rules just to avoid a few of those threads.
