You're probably right. I was surprised by that at first since I personally wouldn't carry an axe with my non-dominant hand but I guess some people prefer to use their non-dominant hand.
"I wonder if there really is a God...
If such an entity really existed, wouldn't all honest, hard-working people be happy?"

Spoiler:
Yeah, some of us do ~nya. I'm right handed, but if it's for throwing things or work I prefer using my left hand. Really, the only things I preer doing with my right hand are eating, drawing, writing and punching ~nya. (My right hook is slightly stronger then the left one.)
~nya!
"Oh, don't give me that! None of you are saints, some of you are just good at hiding your sins!" - Our grade school teacher ~nya... She REALLY believed in our innocence didn't she
The resident DCTP mother kitty ~nya!
In volume 18 Haibara shoots with the gun in her right hand but here the mysterious shadow is holding the axe with the left hand. Could it be someone else ?
Spoiler:
Hm, yeah, it must be someone else with how Gosho uses handedness
I mean, it's not like she could just - I don't know - switch the axe to her other hand once the door is open and she has to use it for something other than carrying it.[/s]
All kidding aside, I don't quite get this. Under different circumstances - heck, maybe with the whole file - I might see a possibility for it being someone else. But at this moment we know: 1) there are no other entrances besides the door the kids are facing 2) With Mitsuhiko checking the room in the previous file I doubt he would have missed a person 3) On page 13 Haibara thought (according to translation) "If this is it... Then I..." while looking at the backpacks (the female one which would have had clothes she could use) 4) With the way the kids are positioned on the ground, Haibara could have easily slipped away 5) which she did on the last page apparently and 6) the resemblance to Shiho
If there weren't so many things pointing to it being Shiho along with things pointing against someone else, I could buy into the possibility of it being someone else. But right now the only thing that seems to suggest it being someone else is handedness, which is a bit weak since she's using both hands (one to open door, obviously and one to hold the axe) which is easily fixed by her switching the axe to the other hand. I also don't know about anyone else, but I often opt to open doors with my dominant hand almost moreso when I'm carrying something.
I think it would be pretty interesting for the possibility of it being another person or a red herring or something, but right now I just don't see how it could happen :-\ Perhaps the whole file might have more possibilities?[/spoiler]
Spoiler:
I agree with you. Another (maybe weak) hint that the mysterious woman could be Shiho, is that she is not wearing shoes.
Shiho 1) might not have the same shoe size as the hut's owner/ax murderer ...
2) or he is a man so that Shiho couldn't have put on his shoes
or 3) the murderer didn't put any spare shoes to his spare clothes ...
Since Gosho let us see that Ai has taken the APTX with her, it's very likely that Shiho appears, in my opinion.
Can't wait for the file now :o

i can't believe that discussion has turned to whether mysterious woman is shiho or not
unless the murderer is shiho like woman ,instead of a man, who slipped inside without using the only entrance after setting the fire to kill 4 kids, i take that ai turned into shiho by taking pill

Spoiler:
When using an axe, most people use their non-dominant hand at the bottom of the shaft, while using their more dominant hand on top for more control and force--assuming that they are actually more coordinated with their dominant hand. Could be why she's just holding the bottom of the axe with her left hand in the picture. I donno though, just a guess lol.
