yep. The funny thing was I happen to post this before I actually read it in the manga  :D. I can't find the episode though which is too bad because it would've been better to watch it.

The school festival episode in Inuyasha is episode 128, and surprise surprise I have a copy hidden in my old anime collection. I re-watched it again. True enough, Shinichi and Ran walked past Kagome in a hall in her school! LOL. The other reference is in episode, where Kagome dressed her brother for a date. It was only later when I realized that the suit is like Conan's. LOL.

Lol... this should be moved and retitled something like Detective Conan References, do you agree Jd- or Tsurugi?

Anyways, I knew all the character references... but those are to be expected (also, KID can be in some ways related to Arsène Lupin, as I am sure a lot of you know lol.) All in all I am glad to see such a devoted following to an awesome show >.< (not that it matters whether I am glad or not  :()

GinRei wrote: It makes some sense though, since they're both from Shonen Sunday.  Infact, I found a picture somewhere (I think someone posted it on Knightus' cbox, can't remember) with Conan's cast interacting with Inuyasha's.  Inuyasha with a magnifying glass and Conan with Tetsusaiga is interesting.
the picture that GinRei is talking about http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w2/k ... sha/vs.jpg

and mmm.. in that youtube vid of Aluecard's.. do i spy a One piece cameo as well? xD

haha that photo is cool in so many ways -- its easy to miss the details:
  • look at the items Ran/Kagome are holding -- my caption is: [Sango] Yes, I use this Inuyasha themed paddle to hit him over the head when he is truly being an idiot... here have a Conan themed one... [Ran] Ah thanks, this is really perfect for hitting Conan-kun if he tries to run off again... Hmm, but I really could use a Shinichi one when he gets back [my Karate would probably kill him]
  • Kogoro is passed out drunk
  • Haibara is playing a game with Miroku and Sango (and from their expressions Haibara is really beating them at it)
  • and the rest of the Detective Boys are being scared to death from Shippo's spinning top
  • the idea of that sword weighing probably 20 times Conan's weight
  • and the idea of Inuyasha trying to catch someone evil using smarts and reasoning (and a magnifying glass ("what's the point -- you can't slice a demon in half with this dull piece of junk!")) is laughable =P

kat1214young wrote: Since you mentioned the name of the coffee shop, has anyone notice the name of their school? It's Teitan School right? Then teitan reversed is tantei which is detective?  :-\  ;D
Perhaps it's nothing or worse and reading much into it, but Teitan is also exactly is one of the seven names for 666 aka the Number of the Beast, which could also correlate with Vermouth comprising of herbs found after the Revelation just as much the sharon fruit, some things are heavily Bible-related ;)

A four-year-old thread revived  :o

Gosho doesn't really read into much of Western theology, but that's an interesting coincidental observation of yours. Also the Teitan = Tantei thing was explored in the Touto Tower bombing case.

In fact, most of DC's place names are either related to iconic detectives (esp Holmes) or UK. On top of my head:
Beika: Baker St
Haido: Hyde Park
Teimuzu River: River Thames
Toujiri (in episode 118): East End's Japanese translation
Raiha Pass: Reichenbach Falls

No. "Mouri Ran" is a reference to "Maurice Leblanc."

I think this might be a DCTP record for most time difference between OP and reply.
