All of you impatiently awaiting the translation:  keep this in mind, the staff here have lives, jobs, and families too.  It is not going to be the end of the world if it takes a while to translate a file.  Please be patient.

We know what we're doing, don't worry. Sometimes things are going to come up in the lives of the staff members that prevent the files from being done on the usual schedule. I believe that these folks are the best at what they do and I'll always stand by their work, even if the results take a bit longer to get to than you expect.

I liked Shiratori's comment on how unlikely it is for people to get bitter of Takagi, the irony :-X

*will probably post things actually related to the case later*

Well I just finished reading the newest chapter, and we seem to have a bit more to go on now.

Date calling himself and Wataru the "Takagi Brothers" seems to me to be a huge red flag, and judging by Conan's reaction at the end he appears to be thinking along the same lines. Could the kidnapper have taken Date's sentamental statement literally and mistaken Takagi for Date's literal brother?

Well, it does seem more likely the grudge is against Date than Wataru, since as Shiratori pointed out, Takagi doesn't really invite many grudges. However, I still have questions. If this is revenge against Date, then it seems strange to me the perp would bother with this deathtrap setup. The hanging is obviously symbolic given the three cases that all ended in hanging "suicides". The problem i'm having is that if the grudge is against Date why not just kill Takagi now? Date can't watch him suffer on that screen. The only reason for the deathtrap setup would be that he wants Takagi's loved ones to suffer along with him, which suggests to me that the grudge is against Takagi himself.

There's probably more to be deduced form what we've been shown, but i'm no Conan, or Chekov. such as whether this kidnapper is an agrieved friend/family member of one of the hanging victims, or a criminal who got away with murder. My feeling would be that it's the first one. As I said before, the hanging seems to be symbollic. A message to Takagi. If he was the killer of one of the women there would again be no reason to keep Takagi alive. If Takagi knew something, or the killer thought he knew something, that could send him to jail it would be safer and easiler to just kill him. This feels like the revenge of a loved one, and it's highly likely this revenge was incited by something Date did. But I still can't resolve the deathtrap setup for either scenario. it only really makes sense to me if the hate is directed at Takagi himself. I hope the next chapter will resolve this. I'd hate for it to just be a case of "Takagi has to be able to be rescued".

@above: Instead of brothers I was thinking more another case of mistaken identity or wordplay on the mentors name, I mean having a 'date' and Date is a bit suggestive, though it's an English pun so kinda unlikely...
