Well my mood wasn't meant to be hostile either, which is why the "XD" was pretty much everywhere. I do that so people know I'm not trying to be mean. lolsonoci wrote:Spoiler: Partial response to IHKF
But he also goes out of his way to keep it from the kids and I think he gave up early on with Hattori because he figured: "He's my Osakan counterpart... he'll figure me out anyways...". And once again, I believe that Shinichi has a CRUSH but is not IN LOVE with Ran.
fffffffffffffffffffffFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.... D: WHAT DO YOU THINK I WAS TRYING TO SAY?! DX I was saying that Shinichi's affection cannot be traced by how he protects people or how worried he gets. He protects EVERYBODY and worries about EVERYONE so I didn't see how it could make much sense to say that him "worrying"about her and running around screaming her name meant he loved her... BECAUSE HE DOES IT WITH EVERYONE! XD But I doubt it, I think he'd go for whatever is practical. He's a man of logic. He does what he HAS to do, not what he wants to.
I'm not going to argue about the R&J thing. As far as I'm concerned, I'm wiping my hands clean of it and I refuse to seriously acknowledge any posts about it. There is nothing any of you can say to convince me that opinion is fact. XD
*Nods* Which would cause some REAL conflict for once, thus making the story more interesting and more fun to read as well as give us some CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!
He wouldn't need to change, but if he truly loved her and the only way to save her, and there was absolutely nothing he could do, was to pull a trigger at say... Gin's head, I don't think he'd hesitate. Granted you typically will change when you pull the trigger for the first time.. *Has been watching WAY too much Chuck* But what choice would you have if you could save their life? Even if they did hate you it would be worth it to see that they're alive and well even if they want nothing to do with you.
1. Yes, because that's his son and he loves him. That doesn't mean that he would be free to help him when he needs. It would likely be his mother helping a great portion of the time.ziraulo wrote: 1. I don't think so. Yuusaku offered help in the first place, and if I'm not mistaken, he's getting help from the frickin' INTERPOL. As well as the fact that it probably wouldn't be Yuusaku doing all the work, either. Knowing Shinichi, he'll try to do what he can. He'll still be the one doing the hands-on work. Besides, if you were trying to protect someone, you would try to get as far away from that person as you can so the bad guys can't make the connection between the two of you, right? It's similar to Shinichi's method, except that he only pretended to leave so he could be able to drive them away and protect the people close to him at the same time.
2. I don't think you got my point. I'm just saying that too much need is bad because it makes you depend on the that person too much. Believe it or not, that's what need does to you. If you truly need a person, you'd be helpless without him/her, probably like the dependence of an infant to his/her mother. Or Bella to Edward.Last time I checked, Ran still goes on with her life. The worst she's done so far is cry over him. She hasn't been extremely depressed or suicidal over it, right? Besides, sonoci's post on love pretty much cancels out your "want/need" argument.
3. Last time I checked, Sonoko doesn't like him that much. As you can see, they're not that close at all. Sonoko just drops in every once in a while to tease or join in the conversation.
We may not know what triggers his tears, but we do know what triggers a slight weakness in him. I don't think you see it, but like someone else has stated before, Shinichi has a tendency to panic when it's Ran who's in danger. When it's another person in danger, he will remain calm and do what he can. But if Ran so much as faints, he'll start shaking her awake before calling an ambulance. Yes, that's canon. It was in the Chinese Deja Vu in the Rain case. Go. Look. It. Up.
A lot of people really seem to misunderstand the point of Romeo and Juliet, myself once included. It might take several reads, but if you read it and understand it, you will notice that Shakespeare wasn't trying to make the love story of the century: He was trying to point out that love at first sight, getting caught in passion and making rash decisions are pretty crappy moves in the game called life.
As for demanding quotes? Unless you're my English teacher, who has a part of the blackboard dedicated for the "quote of the day", asking for quotes is pretty pointless, especially if the point is rather obvious.![]()
And okay... so... what you're saying is that he DOESN'T love Ran? XD
2. No, not helpless, just a little lost sometimes. You've gotten so used to having them in your life and it's difficult to move past that point. Ran cries. That is showing that she needs him there. Is that such a bad thing? (Well... if she does it too often then you have a problem but... XD) YOU DON'T NEED TO BE SUICIDAL OR DEPRESSED. Just SAD works TOO, you know. Need CAN do that to a person but it usually DOESN'T. That's a really pessimistic view on need, you know. ^^'
As for the sonoci thing... *Points to first part of the post*
3. And? That doesn't mean she couldn't replace Ran. She could EASILY take Ran's place if she wanted to.
No... not really. I see absolutely NO DIFFERENCE in the way he reacts to Ran being in danger as oppose to reacting to anybody else. I don't know why the Paper planes case covered that like it did, considering THERE ARE NO CHANGES. XD There is no difference... at all... and if Gosho thinks there is he needs to work on that.
And umm... he shakes... anybody... who... faints... that's kind of... what you DO. XD
*Facepalms* Not the R&J thing again... *Throws hands up* No... nope... I'm... not... doing this... FACT. OR. OPINION. XD
