We have released before the publication date many times. Nonetheless, the file will be out when it's ready. All that can be promised is that it is going to be hype.

Whoever did the Chinese sub obviously had access to the raw Japanese file, it is not hard to speculate that DCTP acquired such raw files before offical publication date but after the Chinese subbers did.  So releasing after Chinese but before Japanese  doesn't mean DCTP tranlsated from Chinese.

@Meramu: That's pretty much what I theorized as well, it's possible, but since this seems to be a huge case, I think there's a lot more to it.

I kinda wish to know how it works when you guys release it before the release date though

I also wonder if this is a case of seeing what is not there while looking at what is. Is the danger real? or is it just a clever stage trick and all Takagi might fall is a few feet.

Maybe, but think from Takagi point of view. You got a rope around your neck, and your on a board. You might think if the board falls it would be over. But the next question should be how did the culprit put Takagi where he is now without killing Takagi or possible great harm? The safest way would be to do it while standing and then lift Takagi into position. There is a lot at the moment that makes me think this setup is illusion and Takagi is in very little real danger. By the way I think the mirror would be on the ground looking up with the board part painted over or maybe even multiple mirrors to create the tunnel effect.

@incomplete: well, many things are said to have happened "last year" that were not mentioned at the beginning of the series so it seems in-universe the whole story hasn't gone longer than perhaps 9 months or so. That means that the Akai-case wasn't more than 2-3 months ago

They know how the guy who gave the kids the tablet looks like and I am pretty sure the whole thing is supposed to look like a former "suicide" that actually was a murder. So they have that.

the name thing: Takagi is VERY shy. and the other police officers would masacre him if they found out htat he was making progress wither her.

@Chekhov: I want to see the other Takagi as well! He was sent to such an important area before we even knew it was important!
He defenitely had that ring for quite a while. ....... (the ting with it not being his ring is also not bad)

@Cider: I also think that he has connections but not in a pro-BO way. Maybe you have read my theory about his parents having been killed by BO

I get the feeling it was either a relative of Date or a relative of a murder that was made to look like a suicide and was never found out to be one.

You don't have to sumarise who Date is because he was only mentioned in file 804 and 805.

I just thought of something. Perhaps there's a bomb or listening device under that cloth. That way, the kidnapper can know if help gets there and he can interfere. And...that actually makes quite a lot of sense since I don't think any criminal would do something that (all things considered) would be easy to prevent *in this case, killing Takagi* It might take a while to find him, but as long as he doesn't roll over he'll be fine.

...Also, you'd think that Takagi would be a little more careful around people considering he's a cop -3-
