Is Takagi actually in Tottori right now? Because if he is maybe we will get to the other Takagi again.

No one seems to know where Takagi went so they are going to have to get the right city...

I know there's almost no chance that this might be true, but what if Takagi is deeply connected to the Org in one way or another? He is one of the people that Shinichi trusts the most, so this would be a huge shock to everyone. This might also explain why Amuro wants to see him in person.
Besides, I smell something very fishy about Tottori... Doesn't anokata's phone number have a Tottori area code?

now we need to see whether the kidnapper has any requests or we will be given any more clues on his motives. Right now it can go either way. I think Takagi is already in Tottori area. If he would be in the Tokyo area, the police would check all similar construction sites

The mark made me wonder if it was even his ring. I thought it would be interesting if Takagi had been using Date's notebook and Date was getting ready to propose to someone he loved with the ring. It might explain the sticker in the notebook - it was Date's girlfriend. Maybe the date marked for meet the parents was part of Date's schedule as well.

From what I had seen in File 805, it does look like Date once owned the notebook Takagi was holding. In fact, looking back at File 804, you can see the shape of the letter D on the notebook (the panel in which Takagi pulled the ring from the side pocket). I thought it was something else. Still not sure about the ring though.

Who is date?

Date-san, Takagi's former mentor who have been killed in a traffic accident about a year ago.

@sonoci: It is awesome, and I feel like this is going to be one of my favorite cases. This could be Takagi's serious case to Sato's. (You know, the bombing one.)

Also, another thought occurred to me while I was re-reading the chapter:

Okay, judging by that ring, I'm guessing that it may be Takagi's mother's, and knowing how he was thinking of Sato when holding it, he probably is going to use that ring to propose to her.
The thing is, though, if they're that far ahead in their relationship, why don't they refer to eachother by their first names? I know how in Japan it's a way of being courteous, but it's just strange for me. O.o

First of all, I really like this case, it seems like a good addition to the Takagi story.

I've had a sorta wacky theory, but it's DC after all, nothing wrong to share
So, what if Takagi was the one responsible for Date-san's death? Maybe they were on a mission, and Date-san sacrificed himself in someway to save Takagi, or for example Takagi and Date-san were in a car, Takagi was driving, got them in an accident, Takagi survived and Date-san was the one who died. And thus, living with his guilt, Takagi didn't dare propose to Satou-san yet, since he was responsible for the death of Date-san (who Satou really admired and respected maybe?)? As for the "Greet Parents" message, I did some amateur tinkering with google translate, getting alternate translations to greet in Japanese, and stumbled upon "go out to meet" What if what was meant with this is "Go out to meet the parents of Date-san" He probably lived away from Tokyo, and Takagi, finally finding the courage to face the parents of Date-san, on his death anniversary, goes to his parents to apologize maybe.

On why Takagi was sick, It is really bothering me, I have a hunch that this is related somehow to the case, but I do not know why.

And the kidnapper seems to be an acrobatic type of man to set the way Takagi was captured, and judging from the photo flashback, Date-san seemed like a powerful athletic person from the way he was holding Takagi, so maybe the kidnapper is a member of Date-san's family, who cannot accept his death and is avenging his relative by killing/kidnapping Takagi. And evidence to back this up, this guy knows that Takagi is in love with a senior police detective, to know that, you need to have a connection to the police somehow, right? But not really close since he doesn't know Satou's name, but only probably knows the name of his presumably relative's apprentice Takagi!

Why are some people complaining? I think we should just be happy that the BO plot is moving AT ALL, even if it's one little hint / step at a time.

Anyway, I'm excited for this case. It would open up a new angle on the whole Sato-Takagi story. Can hardly wait for the next chapter!

Amuro is acting way too suspicious, it's ridiculous. It's good to have other cases like this to keep the balance. So that when the BO plot totally explodes, we'd all still be surprised about it somehow.
