Re: Your Top 10 Favorite Anime/Manga series
aah it doesn't have to be current/new anime/manga right?
1. Rurouni Kenshin (both the anime and manga are excellent )
2. Ouran High School Host Club (both manga and anime are hilarious, but the anime doesn't cover the whole story)
3. Honey & Clover (2 seasons - really good if you like slice of life, comedy stuff)
4. Saiyuki (haven't tried the manga but the anime is AWESOME)
5. Detective Conan (i love the manga but if I have to compare with other series I've read/watched then it does fall a bit in ranking...)
6. Kimi Ni Todoke (manga - just started reading, very funny xD)
7. Doraemon (classic!)
8. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
9. Yakitate! Japan (SO FUNNY)
10. Meitantei Loki
very hard to list! but the top 5, at least, will be permanent favourites i think.
EDIT: oh crap I forgot about Nodame Cantabile. I knew I would miss out something :/ well I'll just pretend I can insert a 5a there. *whistles*

Fushigi Yuugi
Detective Conan
Ranma 1/2
Romeo x Juliet
Jigoku Shoujo
Yakitate Japan
Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Law of Ueki
Shaman King
Ginban Kaleidoscope
For 4-10, I'm not even sure about their rankings. All I know is that they're in my top 10 list.

Re: Your Top 10 Favorite Anime/Manga series
Can't post 10 anime here because I haven't watched 10 animes. XD
1. Cardcaptor Sakura. My first anime, watched when I was 5.
2. Law of Ueki. Dunno, I was hooked to it ever since I watched the first episode. Entertaining.
3. Conan, of course Comes a very close second to LoU.
4. Honey and Clover. Funniest thing I've ever seen. GO SHINOBU!!
5. ToraDora! I didn't like the ending, but some of the scenes were awesome. Music is cute too.
Edit: Nice to see some LoU, Toradora! and H&C fans here. Wait, hasn't anyone watched CCS?

I used to include the Big3 as my 11-13, but Bleach and Naruto would probably not make it in my Top20 in the near future... Once the One Piece treasure has been revealed and it's beyond my expectation, I'll consider OP as the greatest action adventure series of all time... And I would even say Oda > Gosho...kkslider5552000 wrote:I KNOW! AREN'T YOU COOL?! Re: Your Top 10 Favorite Anime/Manga series
Hmm.... Let me see...
In no real particular order... Numbers just to get the right number
1) Detective Conan
2) Lupin III [Might actually like Lupin III a bit more than DC] [Note, these are the only 2 that are even close to the right order]
3) Initial D
4) Shura no Toki
5) Madlax [I'm debating replacing this with Blue Sub No. 6, not sure which is more deserving to be on this list... Btw... does anyone else remember that series? It did air on Adult Swim once upon a time]
6) The Big O
7) Cowboy Bebop [Is this really on no one's top 10 yet? Other than Jing's and mine? Really?]
8) FLCL
9) Elfen Lied [Manga is FAR FAR better]
10) Beck
Note: Haruhi did not make the list because I just started reading the light novels... and the light novels blow both the anime and manga OUT OF THE WATER. Therefore it is unfair to put something that is lesser on this list when there is a better version out. The same goes for Battle Royale... Movie was complete and utter shit compared to the manga, and even worse when compared to the book. The book was much better than both combined.

Re: Your Top 10 Favorite Anime/Manga series
i don't get it, I read the first light novel quite recently and outside of a few things not in the anime (mainly in chapter 1), I very specifically remember it being the exact same thing but with more detailed...er...details. And I do mean the exact same thing.kyuuketsuki wrote: Note: Haruhi did not make the list because I just started reading the light novels... and the light novels blow both the anime and manga OUT OF THE WATER.

I think you answered your own question... More details is a big thing... At least to me... I'm detail oriented. Not to mention they did things in the first season that made the second season feel off [the movie] Read all of the novels...kkslider5552000 wrote:i don't get it, I read the first light novel quite recently and outside of a few things not in the anime (mainly in chapter 1), I very specifically remember it being the exact same thing but with more detailed...er...details. 6. Gundam (multiple series)

10. Kiss x Sis
The FMA is in regards to the manga version, by the way. There's a few that almost made the list. Phantom - Requiem for the Phantom almost made it, but the anime ending was so stupid that I... "changed" it. Pandora Hearts could have made it if the last three episodes hadn't gone to AO hell on the series. Zero no Tsukaima if they had actually stuck to the novels instead of... butchering it. Tower of Druaga... that probably still wouldn't have made it, but it may have been in top15 if it hadn't been Gonzo'd.
Depending on how Seitokai no Ichizon ends, it may make the list.

Re: Your Top 10 Favorite Anime/Manga series
I can't decide which is the BEST I've seen, so the order has nothing to do with it.
1) Sailor Moon (never read the manga and probably never will. I liked the anime the way it was and rewatched it maybe 3 times already)
2) Detective Conan
3) Umineko no Naku Koro Ni
4) Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (all seasons)
5) UFO Princess Valkyrie
now this is where I can't think of any more which would be in my top 10. I watched like 20+ anime since last year but it's hard to decide which I liked the most. If I was still 12-16 then maybe Inuyasha and Dragon Ball Z, but now I don't see them as such master works.
6) Hayate no Gotoku
7) The Sacred Blacksmith (depends on how it continues...)
8) Darker than Black
9) Koihime†Musou
10) the anime adaption of my novel 8) (a man can dream, can't he?)
most of these are fantasy genred...

Actually, now that I look at all these...none of those popular series seem to be on any of them...or at least aren't ranked very high.
Nice to see some KG fans out there~
Hmm...I wonder if anyone's familiar with Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoiyo! Masaru-san... :/ I forgot to put that on my list as well...

I like Outlaw Star more than Cowboy Bebop but both series didn't make it on my Top10... In other anime forum sites, Cowboy Bebop is regarded as one of the classics so I know why you commented like that...kyuuketsuki wrote: 7) Cowboy Bebop [Is this really on no one's top 10 yet? Mainstream anime shouldn't be treated as the best... They may be more popular than the other series but it doesn't necessarily follow that they are much better...Pretztailfan95 wrote: Actually, now that I look at all these...none of those popular series seem to be on any of them...or at least aren't ranked very high.

true, but desperately trying to avoid popular series and hating popular series for being popular is worseCoolKid3 wrote:Mainstream anime shouldn't be treated as the best... besides DC has better ratings than pretty much anything else in this topic

Re: Your Top 10 Favorite Anime/Manga series
Interesting. I happen to believe that YYH went downhill at the beginning of the tournament as well, though that's only because these mostly lighthearted characters (except Hiei) were thrown into a pretty epic fight after only 25-26 episodes. As such, everything else after that had to be even more epic, and the third season... wasn't. The fourth was then completely blown out of proportion. If they'd gone with the 5-8 episode cases for another season or two, I'd have been much more satisfied with the whole package. As far as I'm concerned, though, only the first season of YYH is worthy of a top 10 list.kkslider5552000 wrote:...Yu Yu Hakusho ignoring that stupid tournament...
That said, I absolutely loved learning about Hiei and Kurama's past. It just needed to be done differently.
