I know what you were getting at, I just mean that I don't really remember her having a transformation sequence like that, just the 1-panel type of stuff she does now (unless you're talking anime, not manga)

and I've only watched the first few episodes of the anime, but yeah it does seem to have a much lighter/comical tone than the manga.

also, aside from what I said earlier, I feel like the 7 year timeskip was also put in so that Zeref could become more established as a villain (or whatever he ends up being), rather than just being a guy who walks around killing stuff.

It's also pretty sad that the author went with the powerboost solution. Why even give such problematic settings if you're going with the most lazy method in Shonen?

at the very least, it sounds like it might have accomplished the feat of bringing Erza down to the others' levels, because she apparently "already had her second wind" so she didn't power up, supposedly.
