I think there's more future in MitsuxAi than MitsuxAyumi. MitsuAyu seems, to me, to consist mainly of Mitsu crushing on Ayumi, and he crushes on lots of girls. He seems to develop crushes easily. But there seems to be an actual connection forming with Ai; specifically, Ai does actually seem to hold some fondness for him, and I think there's the potential for it to evolve into something if Ai decides to stay a kid, which I think she will. The main thing is that Mitsuhiko is a highly intelligent and, more importantly, very sensitive and discreet boy, which I think would suit Ai very well.

Everybody was complaining about the movies needing something new. Maybe they heard our pleas and mis-read it as we wanted less popular more unique fanservice. (When we really wanted something besides bombs... it would be a happy accident. XD)

Haibara needs Mitsuhiko. She needs a soft, gentle guy- not a dangerous scary man or a daredevil.

But in all seriousness... AiCon wouldn't work out.

Haibara and Conan would not be good together in my eyes. Just.... no. They don't share the same morals, first of all. Haibara, if a man walked into a bank in front of her, robbed it and killed somebody on the way out, would simply call the cops and play it safe. CONAN, however, would run RIGHT AFTER that penniless (or now that he robbed a bank very rich) murderer and knock him down. You see, Ayumi would do the same thing as Conan and follow him while Haibara would no. This makes Ayumi more compatible moral-wise than Haibara to him. Ayumi and Conan would raise a child to believe they should chase after that criminal. Haibara and Conan would raise that poor child to be confused and misguided. XD They wouldn't know WHAT to do or WHO to listen to if a somebody robbed a bank and killed someone in front of them. Listen to Mommy or listen to Daddy? Hmmm....? That would tear the poor little thing apart! (Unless, of course, he/she already HAS a favorite which would not be a good sign...). Likewise, Mitsuhiko would be on Haibara's side and their kid would be raised to lay back, call the cops, and hope for the best. This makes Mitsuhiko more compatible moral-wise for Haibara than Conan.

Now to the second issue with AiCon- Conan would be reminded of being poisoned, shot, knocked out, the fear he felt and all the lies he had to give and all that he was forced to leave behind whenever he's with her. I don't think he'll ever be able to see her as a romantic partner when she, on some level, RUINED HIS LIFE. Ayumi, at least, resembles Ran in a very strong way such as her popularity, her morals, her looks, her fears, and her reactions. He would probably get more of a nostalgic feeling and not feel like he lost as much. He would still be reminded of it every once in a while, but Ayumi is not a PRIMARY SOURCE of his pain like Haibara is. Mitsuhiko, also, has NOTHING against Haibara and wouldn't have any problem seeing her as a romantic partner.

Now, to the third point. Haibara ALSO has very little in common with Conan. Besides soccer and being shrunk and living in fear out of the same organization, they have NOTHING. Haibara, while once temporarily interested in detective work, ultimately chose science. Conan doesn't CARE for science although it is needed to be a detective. If he didn't need it to do his job he'd probably have no interest in it. Once they both got home neither would be all that interested in their work. MITSUHIKO, though, is a very smart boy and knows a LOT for his age. He seems to know plenty of scientific facts and often shows interest in things that would lead us to believe he'll be a scientist or something related in the future. Ayumi as well is interested in detective work so that gives you a clu as to future jobs she may take up. For all we could know Conan'll be a private detective and she'll be in Sato's spot. XD

She has shown no real interest in him and he obviously has had no real interest in her so far. Haibara has been hinted to have feelings for Mitsuhiko.

What do you think about that video growth journal Haibara is making?
On the first glance, it is hilarious. On a second glance... why Genta? Does she like seeing him eat so much that she needed an excuse to take pictures of him? (Just kidding... might be because he really reminds her of the professor, maybe?)

Now, the important thing is the third glance. Why would Haibara do such a thing in the first place? Did she finally find out that Genta is the BO boss?
If we remember how much she tried not to get too much involved with anyone else in fear the BO might hurt them once they found her, why would she create such a "dangerous" journal? And why a project that would take - if she is serious - years to finish?
Well, to me it seems like she had kinda settled to stay with the Detective Boys for a long time. And allow them even deeper into her life.

As it was said often before: The most important thing the DBs need most to succeed with their love for Haibara (or Conan, in Ayumis case) is time. And it seems like Haibara had decided to stay with them for a while.

Those types of things would and do years to accomplish- and I think that it has something to do with Okiya. She isn't so worried anymore and I'm betting she feels like she's going to live and that she's going to be safe- which means that she feels she can live in peace- which means she would be able to live in peace growing up again. ^^

She indeed seems to have chosen to live as Ai Haibara- which means Mitsuhiko has a chance.

I also agree that Coanan and Ai have little in common personality-wise.
Especially about being a kid: Conan wants to become Shinichi again, while Ai doesn't seem to want to become Shiho again. Why shoud she? Her family is dead and the only people she knew were BO-members. [sarcasm]YAY![/sarcasm]
I think she has settled with being Ai Haibara and grow up "normally" with friends and people she can trust.

Now, what kind of guy would she most likely choose? She might still have issues about the BO so most likely someone she could trust. You can't get much higher on the trust-ladder than a childhood friend. She is also rather cautious and wouldn't take someone who is reckless. Miost likely she is also more drawn towards intelligent men. It also helps when the partner has similar interests as you.
Mitsuhiko has been hanging around with er since she joined the detective boys. While he does play detective, he is seldomly/hardly seen taking the initiative and is more the type to tag along and try to see the whole picture. If he gets involved in a case he usually brings in his knowledge. While he isn't as knowledgeable as Conan, this is mostly due to being ten years jounger and being more interested in science (as seen in his first apearence)

From Mitsuhiko's perspective: He is smarter than most of his classmates. (It isn't precieved that way because he is overshadowed by Conan but without Conan and Ai he would be standing out ) He might be aware of that that and is positively stunned that there is a girl that is so much above him. As he might alredy have experienced the side effects of being intellectually a bit above the others and might understand her bether than most other people. (Not a hundred percent, but he might think like "She must be incredible lonely, much more than me" or something similar)

I think that they would be good for each other. Mitsuhiko has sometone to look up to who still kinda is on a similar level as him. Ai has someone who knows that she has vulnerable places in her heart and is sensitive enough not to poke at these, while still being at a high intelectual level.

to other crushes: Mitsuhiko has had a cush on Ayumi, yes, but notice that those moments in which it is shown become less and less and moments with Ai become more and more. he also gets a lot of character developement, making him the person I described above. He might now see his crush on Ayumi as a childhood-crush and nothing more.
Ai did seem to have feelings for Conan, however this also seems to vanish. This could have many reasons. She sees how reckless he is or how much he is in love with Ran. It could also have to do with the fact that she resigned to stay Ai Haibara and not taking a possible cure.

Now, I don't think they will hook up at eleven or so. They will most likely notice their atraction for each other in their teens and slowly start dating.
