So, I've got to get up at 7 tomorrow in order to spend 9 hours on a plane and probably 5 more in airports. That is so totally my favourite thing ever[/sarcasm]

I had this drug quiz competition today.I had studied really hard and stuff, so I was pretty confident.

But because of one of my team mates joking around and pressing the buzzer at random times, we lost. 16 to 44.

OH GOD WHY DIDNT I STUDY EARLIER

I reaaalllly don't want to retake this course.  I need sleep.  I shall study and cram in the morning.  Oh god. Why.

just replace 'study' with 'start writing this paper'. 15 pages by 5 pm today.

Work was absolutely miserable and I dread even going back in tomorrow if I have to deal with people like that again. I'm so tired of the abuse from random strangers just because they can't get what they want OMGRIGHTNAO and decide to take it out on the only person that they talk to. Good lord, it's not my fault a department is busy and can't get to the phone. I'm being nice to you, you be nice to me, you jerk.

Also, computer+phone problems earlier caused me to have to shut down both of the computers in switchboard and reboot them, and during that time, the phone was constantly ringing, but there was literally nothing I could do. When I finally got the computers back up and starting answer phones as quickly as possible and transferring people, one guy decided to be an ass about it and demanded to speak to a manager because it took me so long to answer the phone even after I explained that we were having technical issues - I talked to the manager later and he told me the guy was just a jerk and not to worry about it.

And I won't even go into the many times I was yelled at over things I can't control. And the guy who called me useless the other day.

I swear to your invisible deity of choice, that if any of you ever treat a retail employee the way I'm constantly treated by customers, I will personally hunt you down and beat manners and compassion into you. I swear I will. Nobody should ever have to come home from work and cry because people were so horrible to them.

That sounds like my mom's day at work at Target. At least your employer isn't trying every possible (and sometimes illegal) way to keep you from getting the pay/work hours you've earned or deserve.

Some people are just plain mean and nasty and take out their anger/frustrations/impatience at the wrong people. The only thing you can do is try not to let them affect you too much. You are not useless. You are a wonderful person who is unfortunately often exposed to customers who underappreciate your help.
