I guess they just genuinely didn't expect Kid to actually hide the thing on Conan, of all people. Jammy as ever but it almost worked.
Kinda disappointed that Kid actually did taser Conan, but i'm relieved that he wasn't actually caught. They were chasing him, but it doesn't show them actually catching him so I doubt it happened. Kid-sama! ♥

It's referring to the fact that DC, as a whole, will continue in the next issue.  So the next file is going to be a different case.

GUYS. Bit late, but I've found new evidence of strange hat behavior around the Kaitou Kid and his heists! I figured this was the most relevant place to post it.

Haibara is not the only one losing hats at heists! They can migrate without warning, leading main characters to important clues!

Also, where does Kid's hat go back in the teleportation case? It just disappears, and then reappears out of nowhere.

Conclusion: Kid is able to warp the space-time continuum to manipulate people's hats, and often does it unintentionally as well. Haibara's merely vanished and reappeared as a result of being in close proximity with Kid for extended periods of time.
