Detective Conan Files 796-800 Discussion Thread: Dun dun dun

@caribou you are almost suggesting HE wants to play cat and mouse with kogorou because he thinks him worthy?  Is that why he might be showing his true colors. To get Kogorou to set a trap and see if he can escape?

No, that's not what I'm suggesting. :/ I don't think it is a who-is-a-better-detective game (if that's what you meant) but I just think that Kogoro, being in so much limelight as a famous detective suddenly, would attract the BO's interest. and also:

maybe boubon is investigating the people who planted bug on kir, thwarted BO's plan and have helped sherry to escape from clutches of gin and possibly are harboring her in safety.

if we go through the files and think from a BO agents point of view ther are only two possible suspects
FBI (akai staked out for BO in file 504)
Mouri Kogoro(the last person who met kir i.e who could have bugged her)

that sounds like a good reason to investigate Kogoro...

I guess, as Black Demon pointed out, it boils down to a debate on what is Bourbon's objective.. and also whether you think Amuro is Bourbon or yet another new detective.

Well, if Amuro was Bourbon he would have already gained something by joining Kogorou, which is hear about (and possibly meet with) Sera.
Also, if he really hates Akai that much and he's convinced he's still alive, it would make sense to try and create a situation where he is forced to get out of hiding. And it would probably be easier to do so if you can be around the main characters without suspicion.

Bourbon's plan probably involves looking for Akai as its primary goal. This plan explains the scar Akai disguise and why it was used to approach the FBI one at a time. It also explains Vermouth's comment about it being a plan the boss approved because he is cautious and wants to be extra certain about something (that is to make sure Kir is not a traitor who used a trick and Akai is really dead). Sherry finding could be a secondary goal, because currently the Black Org thinks Shiho is with the FBI: the Black Org followed Shiho's gum and bug combo (really Conan's, but they don't know that) and found Akai waiting for them on the other end in FBI vs Org.

Once his plan involving the FBI as Scar Akai failed to get results, Bourbon may be approaching Kogoro with the goal of looking for Akai, not knowing about Sera at all. At the very least, Bourbon thinks Kogoro is someone is worth knowing, because Bourbon has Kogoro's cellphone number memorized or kept with him. The reason why Bourbon cares is because Kogoro has had at least two important ties to Akai as far as Bourbon is concerned. The first is Kogoro's involvement in the case with Kir, whom Bourbon suspects collaborated with Akai to fake his death (because if you assume Akai is alive, he must have faked his death, and there is no other way Kir could not be an accomplice). While it seemed like Kogoro was cleared after FBI vs Org, Gin still suspects Kogoro may have had some involvement. Bourbon can come to a similar conclusion. The second connection between Kogoro and Akai is Kogoro's involvement in the case with Hirota Masami, aka Miyano Akemi. She was an important person to Akai, and Kogoro's picture with her dead body made it to the front page.

Amuro's reaction (and questions if he asks any) to Sera in 799/800/whenever will probably show whether he was or wasn't expecting her.

So I'm not sure where I heard/thought of this, but I'm guessing 799 is not going to be the resolution. If that's the case, how will this escalate into something bigger? Conan is easily going to reveal what the woman was up to this whole time in the next file. Is the continuation going to come from Sera and Amuro? That seems to be the most likely option.

Unless something happens on Conan's end. The way I see it, because the woman was shown to be "nice" through the jacket part, Conan probably won't need to use his tranquilizer gun on her. This interests me: why would Gosho do that? Is Conan going to need it for something later? For some reason, I don't see things going so easily that Okiya and friends can just come pick him up. Maybe he phones Ran, hears that Sera was headed there and then begins to head there, not knowing that Okiya and friends are following him.

...Well, I guess overall there's no real way to know :X ...Can't wait for those spoilers to come in a few days~ *so excited*

it's almost certain the case won't end on chapter 799. Conan and Serina still have to the woman she wants to kill and Conan/Shinichi being the deduction maniac we know will still want to know who that person is even though putting Serina to sleep will end the case sooner. The fact he hasn't put her to sleep could mean that there is more to this case than just stopping Serina. There could also be the fact he wants to capture the remaining robber(s) and with Serina's help it can be done easier

o.o maybe... Amuro is actually an FBI or CIA or ASIS or watevs and Conan figured it out, confronted him, and theyre working together

I made money during my internship.  Not everywhere is looking for free labor. 

Was it enough to offset your tuition?

intern where I work got $20/hr before actually becoming an employee, which I would imagine is enough to offset a graduate tuition (if he ever actually went to grad school, which I don't think he did). Though admittedly, you'd probably be making a lot less in a research intern position, I don't see why it has to be an internship he's doing at all, considering he's probably not actually in grad school. :V
