LOL. When Amuro hinted Kogoro about the password, I remembered any time Conan would hint something to the police officers.

In all those cases Conan would act innocently and pass hints so they solve the cases. It felt the same here, when Amuro noticed Ran was questioning him, he changed to an not-so-clever attitude. He clearly doesn't want to stand out too much.

That's quite true. It makes me wonder if acting that way himself will make Amuro catch on to Conan faster if he's at a case where Conan drops the hints.

As for not wanting to stand out...well, that adds to some theories quite nicely. ...Hey wait

Ran caught on to him so quickly when he did that. Is that some hint that she notices Conan doing those things but is just putting it on the back burner for now?  :o

Didn't Ran already settled for Conan just being an smart kid? Reference to anime episode 400. She noticed Conan behavior that time.

And yes, that's true, Conan is always reckless even when someone suspicious is around, and if Amuro is like this, Conan will be all smart with no worries about him >.<. Even though they probably won't meet anymore, if he is revealed to be Bourbon earlier, which is possible with Okiya/Sera on the move.

Just saw File 798 in its entirety, and it’s awesome as usual. Anyways, here are some questions and comments I have about the case so far.

Spoiler:

Who is the actual tenant of the apartment?
If I’m not mistaken, it has yet to be confirmed. In my opinion though, it’d be the deceased bank employee, Shouno Kenya. So, the next question is: who could’ve been staying in his apartment after his death? I believe that would be the Urakawa Serina, the sister or girlfriend. (Note: I believe siblings can still have different last names. I guess just think about cases of step- and half-siblings… and I guess culture and family traditions play in this category as well.) But considering that Amuro and company didn’t see any evidence that would point them to the conclusion that female had been staying in the apartment, I am most likely wrong.

Who planted the bugs in the apartment?
Shouno (and Urakawa) is probably friends with one of the robbers, who also happened to know that he is an employee of some bank. With that knowledge, the Friend (the Suitcase guy, probably) planned a robbery in that specific bank. The Friend planted several bugs in Shouno’s apartment to gather some information that would help the robbery to go smoothly. After gathering all of the information the friend needs, the Friend carried out the plan with two others. During the robbery, Shouno probably recognized his friend among the robbers and tried to stop them, but he died.

More questions…
1. What happened after the robbery? In-fighting, per Chekov’s suggestion? It’s possible.
2. How did Urakawa found about the robbery—that is if we are considering that she’s not in cahoots with the robbers? I have a theory for this one, but it doesn’t really mesh with the crime that had happened in Mouri’s cursed restroom. I mean, what is the point of commissioning Kogorou?
3. Is Urakawa Serina really avenging the death of the bank employee? Or is she really the mastermind of the robbery? Or BOTH? Dun dun dun...

Unless it was Amuro who hired them and the apartment was actually HIS?! And that he intends to kidnap Kogoro and question him! [/random thought]

Anyways, I find it odd that when Urakawa showed the photo of his brother to Conan and company, Megure-keibu didn’t realize that the man was the victim in the recent robbery. Given that he’s in the First Division and therefore does not hold robbery cases, but there was still a murder case that occurred during the robbery. So, shouldn’t Megure be knowledgeable of the deceased employee… at least his face? I mean, even Conan had an inkling that he saw the person somewhere before. *shrugs shoulders*

Conan also remembered his face because the robbery was just a few days before and he remembers way older figures if the case was interesting. As for what Amuro said about Kogorou, what purpose would have to test Amuro? The suspicions continue to pile up for Amuro.

note file 798 does NOT say that next one is resolution while in other arcs that is not the case.
and it would  be incredible if all the mystery and the history relating to robbery  are explained in  1 file.

Q4 are locker and keys just to stall pages?? for this file has zero and previous file had little info to that .on top of it conan and srina are going to some woman who is not even mentioned before.

Q5 and finally who the heck is this woman whom serina is searching and want to kill?
and why would she want to kill her and not want to kill her(according to conan )?

PS: is there any proof that next file is resolution ,yet?

Well let's see. It's a fact that Urakawa (the lady suspect) and Shouno (the dead banker) were at least familiar with each other due to the picture of them together on the cell phone. All evidence suggests the cell phone belonged to BathroomGuy (BG).

--> Why was there a picture of Urakawa and Shouno on BG's phone?
--> Why didn't BG recognize Urakawa, or be suspicious of her presence at Mouri's Detective Agency, if her picture was on his cell phone?

Urakawa intercepted BG's visit to Mouri. That means she somehow knew in advance about the meeting. There are listening devices in the apartment, and it would appear that Urakawa knew there was one inside the suitcase with SuitcaseGuy (SG). It is therefore likely that Urakawa was the one who planted the listening devices, or at least that Urakawa was the one who planted that particular one inside the suitcase.

--> Why was there a listening device inside a suitcase with a dead man?

Planting the devices would require that Urakawa had access to the apartment even before she met up with BG at the office, ruling out the idea that she had merely taken the key to the apartment from BG.

--> How did she get the key to the apartment?
--> Who's apartment was it in the first place?
--> What is the relation between SG and the apartment owner?
--> Who were the 4 people who were having a party at the apartment?

What she wanted from BG was instead his phone, which, if BG was one of the robbers, would contain the phone numbers of the other robbers. Urakawa is seen frantically trying to get in touch with someone, or as we later learn, 3 different people, via BG's phone. We can suppose that the one Urakawa wants to kill, UnknownWoman (UW), is the third robber. However...

--> Who are the other two people she is trying to get into contact with?

Theory time:

The apartment is Shouno's. Shouno and Urakawa are dating but not living together. Robbers are buddies with Shouno, and have seen Shouno and Urakawa together a few times.  But Shouno doesn't know that they are planning to rob his bank, perhaps using information they gathered through the listening devices in his apartment. Robbers rob bank, Shouno seems to recognize his buddies, Shono gets shot so he can't tell. Meanwhile Urakawa goes to Shouno's place while grieving and edits together and studies footage of the robbers. She also discovers the listening devices and concludes that the robbers were friends with Shouno. During the wake, she identifies the robbers. Pretending she doesn't know, she invites them over to Shouno's place to "help her go through his effects." She tells them about a coin locker key she found in his effects, and manipulates one of them, BG, into going to Kogorou's to ask him to track down the locker. As the party is breaking up, she asks one of the robbers, SG, to stay using some kind of excuse. She kills him, leaving the listening device in the suitcase as a sort of display of contempt. She then goes to Kogorou's and kills BG (perhaps a disguise or some sort of intrigue was used to explain/hide her presence there - for example she already "told them" that she was Mouri's assistant but didn't want to ask him about the key directly...).

She probably was the one interrogating BG with the gun, and didn't expect Mouri and company to not fall for the "Oh, I'm at Columbo now" trick - however she had prepared in advance for them to find her in the situation they did, just not as soon. She has to kill BG without getting the info she wanted, and somehow extricate herself from the police. She sets up the trick, etc., police are fooled. She doesn't give her real name to the police, nor does she lead Kogorou and company back to her real apartment - there should be nothing to trace her. She doesn't count on them going inside the apartment.

Now, she's on the hunt for the third robber, UW. Perhaps she's contacting three people because she called everyone else in the phone book in the cell phone and tried to match the voice with UW, but there are three people who won't answer the phone... Or perhaps she only knew UW's given name, or only UW's surname, and there were three matches but BG wouldn't give tell her which one UW was. She wants to call UW and set up a meeting so she can kill UW as well.

this case will surely have at least 5 chapters, there are still too many questions unnswered and Sera won't probably get her answer in this case either. Since Haibara, Subaru and Amuro are on this case too, any connection between the 4 of them will be treated in the next case. Since we have 2 more chapters this year(799 and 800), any probable connection with BO will be dealt wih or a least start next year. Gosho taking so much breaks means he has great plans for the curent cases and wants to think it carefully

knowing only the given name or the surname, if she hears the voice of each of the 3 persons she was calling she can find out which one is the woman she wants to kill. If she finds a match, she can search the adress on the phone book. I think Conan will just tag along to prevent any further killing and then hand the last robber to the police

in that case
real kei(bathroom guy or bg sounds funny!!) would have known urakawa from before and urakawa would know who is the woman and would went to her home.

and if revenge was her motive then why she didn't made all three drunk and kill them and put fire to them to remove any evidence .

Thank goodness, "File 1 of the New Year" is not in January. It is a reference to the first SS issue after 53 (which is considered the end of the 2011 issues), and it will be out in 2 weeks' time. *though I still think that 2 weeks is a long time *
