I have several theories what might have happened but I'd need to to know several things...
how she was bound?
was the gun revolver or pistol?
Where were her shoelaces?
What were they wearing?

Spoiler: Theory1

One theory is that she killed the man before quickly binding herself (it works if she was bound like I think...takes 2 seconds from me).
She would have been bound by legs,mouth and hands behind her back.It's easy to bind you own hands behind your back...in a way it looks impossible to do by yourself...and in small toilet...but it's hard to unbind them so help is needed.
Don't know how she got rid of the gunpowder though...

one is that the woman is telling half-truth of what happened and the man shot himself...because the woman was the boss and had some very incriminating evidence (while no evidence of her own involvement) somewhere about him and the other dead dude (and proof that he killed him)
so to not end up in jail for murder and robbery he killed himself. He was little puppy who did everything the woman ordered...and this was all planned out by the woman (yes she is the master mind but she didn't kill him)

and final theory is that she killed him while bound ...This requires me to really see the pictures...so I won't tell it until then. This uses her shoelaces...it's pretty neat trick I tell ya...

Shouldn't the gun fall out of his hands after shooting himself?
Also isn't it commoner to put the gun into the mouth and shoot instead of holding it between the knees?
