What if....

Bourbon finds out that Okiya is Akai but realizes that Haibara is Sherry
but because of his one sided love to Akemi he wants her sister to be safe and to keep her safe he'll have to keep Conan safe too...and drawing attention to Okiya(Akai) would compromise their covers...
so he'll decide to swallow up his hate and Lie to other BO...
and therefore comes to Conan's side either them knowing or not...

what do you think? I'll say it again in other words:

He hates Akai because he thinks it's Akai's fault  Akemi died. He wants to be in good side of Akemis soul so he decides to keep Sherry safe and seeing Haibara he realizes the situation of Conan...and if he puts 2+2 he gets that Okiya must be Akai and Kir AND Conan helped him...(the phone)
so to keep Haibara safe he must keep them safe...TADAAA!!

this theory depends heavily on assumption that Bourbon is caring guy who loved Akemi more than anything...and believes in spirits somewhat...

Ai and Akai have both pointed out that she looks like Akemi so if this guy hates Akai because of Akemi he might try to woo Ran...which I would really much DISLIKE...I just tried to think up something that would make Amuro total bad guy in my books...

in the last frame, it looks like Amuro is saluting Conan more than he is Kogoro. It's really just the angle, but

I overthink even the smallest things  :P

Now that you mention it, it does seem that way. Although I personally think that we all have imagined it.

I have the feeling that in the very last scene of the case (the tiny diamond-shaped square at the left corner), Amuro also seems to be smiling to Conan, not Kogoro.

Well, if that turns out to really be the case, then Amuro won't be Bourbon anymore, but probably Eisuke returning for me. I think it would be too fast for Bourbon actually realizing Conan is behind it all. If he did, then he'd become a danger to Conan, and as far as I can remember, Conan was the one who was able to "feel" whenever someone sees him as prey.

I don't think he'll go that far, but if Ran does something to try to protect Sera if Amuro is trying to kill/capture Sera with Ran present as well, it might make Amuro hesitate.

I don't think that Amuro will risk capturing Sera when there's also a third person around. Especially when both of them are martial artists, it will only makes his goal more difficult to achieve. Even though he can always use gun, drug, electric-stunner... to neutralize them, that would make it too easy, and not to mention a little bit, well, "dirty" (even for a BO).

I don't think the BO members really care so much about pride and honor. Gin knocked the teenager Kudou down from behind in the first chapter, and using bombs and the like doesn't show much appreciation for fair game either. The BO wouldn't be much of a criminal organization if they even cared about that, or at least not a very successful one. Using a stun gun or whatever in a fight isn't necessarily "dirty", it can be smart IF known how to correctly use it. The fights in DC are street fights and not sport competitions after all, there are no rules or whatever.

Been there done that with Akai and Vermouth (the protecting the sites with Akai and protecting Conan & co with Vermouth. Well, I'm not really into the theory of Bourbon being a good guy anyway. Gimme a new psychopath, we barely see Gin anyway.

Idk why but on the latest file when Kogoro (Conan) was deducting, every page where Amuro's there, he looks so shocked & have a "what is this? DDD:" face. xD Kinda looks scary to me.

I'm thinking the same too. I don't think he would know of the existence of Shinichi Kudo... unless the BO told him to hunt him down :0

I definitely think Amuro is aiming to look into Conan more than he's interested in being Kogoro's apprentice. I say that mostly because of the line on the side: "One after the other, more detectives are gathering near Conan!?"

Also, love how Conan calls other detectives "Pain-in-the-necks". Yes Conan. After all, in Detective Conan there should only be one detective!

He didn't even seem to notice Conan, though. And I don't think Conan is saying that other detectives besides him are annoying just the ones who specifically want to be "Sleeping Korogo's" Apprentice aka Eusike and Sera. He seems kind of genuine about being his apprentice unlike the other two though this could be foreshadowing that this is not the case.

Conan is oh so well hiding and is so freaking normal looking/acting kid that of course He's totally unnoticed by the baddies...
