Re: Discussion of character trends in DC storytelling
even if Vermouth liked to stay in background...you forgot that she's frigging actress
so of course she would go to coach Drama club...and if you look carefully you can see that the students forced her to be the leading male actor because of his good looks (if it wasn't Sonoko's part already)...and if we take note that she's a little possessive and protective of Ran/Shinichi...she would have taken the leading role instead of some random guy...

Re: Discussion of character trends in DC storytelling
First Let me explain something to you.If she is discovered, she could be arrested. That could really hurt her mission. All in takes is someone to notice she is acting out of character, and it could be game over. There is a good reason why imposters most of the time try to keep a low profile. They are afraid of being found out. The longer they do the role ,the greater the chance of this happening. Also remember that while we can not see her we will learn later that Jodie is there as well, and she already knows Araide is an imposter and who he really is. There is a lot at risk in this role. Because of this, no mater how tempted she is, I sure she keeping a low profile. There too much at stake not to. And it not just her acting like Araide, she can not slip and act like her self. We either know now or will learn that Ran is a Fan of her mother, if not her (the theory that they are one and the same), that should mean there are other fans there and they might notice "Araide" acting like Sharon or Chris and not Araide. Again if that happens, it is game over. I hope you can understand why I think your statement is unlikely. I believe some acting is habit, and that habit, can make it game over.Partsu wrote: even if Vermouth liked to stay in background...you forgot that she's frigging actress

Again my other point, I am sure the real Doctor Araide would agree to help. That the kind of kind hearted man he is. He I am sure was willing.
What I am saying is vermouth would have to be "pulled' or forced into it. By acting, she could reveal accidentally the truth. I am also sure that was a relief, that she did not need to perform. Think this way. An actress acting like a guy who is not an actor and might have does it long ago. That is way to easy to either overact or underact. That Sonoko told Vermouth he was no longer needed, that removed all the possible danger from the picture.
AS for the last part, I must disagree. Being too eager to be in a play that is for students would also give the game away.

Re: Discussion of character trends in DC storytelling
The fact that "Araide" quit coaching the basketball team and instead started being an advisor to the drama club was a clue right there that this was a different Araide than before.
Simply: Vermouth made that decision, not Araide.

Ok Abs I looked. And Yes I got a question (Page 3 Chapter 270 Volume 27 File 7) Bottom left
The word is teacher. Most of the time the school nurse / doctor is not a teacher. They stay in the heath care part of the school. Could you please check that word?

Re: Discussion of character trends in DC storytelling
The word is "sensei." It is being used as an honorific in the case you described: "Araide-sensei." This honorific is used for not only teachers, but also doctors, and other professionals.sstimson wrote: Ok Abs I looked. And Yes I got a question (Page 3 Chapter 270 Volume 27 File 7) Bottom left

Re: Discussion of character trends in DC storytelling
Awkward word in translation
On that page Sonoko comment "Now that Shinichi-Kun isn't here anymore, he the most popular ...'sensei'.
Like in my earlier comment, teacher does not really fit as most school doctor are not teachers, but stay in the health care area in case they are needed. Picture this: 'Paging Doctor Araide. Emergency in room 110'.
Changing the word order does make it make sense "Now that Shinichi-Kun isn't here anymore, Dr Araide is the most popular"
Might be a minor mistranslation there. I just saw it and it to me did not make sense. Now with the rewording, it does.
Trying to figure out if the Doctor or Vermouth made the shift there. The basketball coach might have more time then a drama member. I need to do more research. Thanks again
Explaining: If Dr Araide was trying to free up some time since as Sonoko suggest, he is too busy, it would be normal to switch to a less time consuming position. The current question is which one of the two takes more time. I still find it hard to believe a Bo member who need to take a long term assignment, would open themselves to the balancing act of acting neither too good, or too bad for that role. After all most imposters try to avoid a situation that might give the game away. But if the Doctor had already done it to save time, then Vermouth in that role makes more sense to me as she would be forced into it.
