Sherry and Gin

Why do you think Gin hates Haibara so much? All he ever cares about is killing her. What's your theory on their past?

She betrayed the organization, and therefore must be eliminated.... and Gin, being so proud of himself, is not very successful in killing her, hence, she hurts his ego... $:-\$

I think they had feelings for each other. Given that Gin is an Affectionless Psychopath, I find it unlikely that he was in love with her, but he clearly held her in some regard and thus her betrayal felt all the greater for it, so he wants her to pay all the more. On the other side, I think she did have some feelings for him. She looked almost happy at Haido Hotel when she said "You did wait for me out in this cold..." That would have just made it hurt even more when he killed her sister, though.

I'm not a fan of this "SherryxGin"-talk, but he definitively does not really hate her, but just acts like this.
@mangaluva: That part is just sarcasm. No evidence for a romantic relationship. I wouldn't have said it elsewise.

It could've just been set up that way to keep the story going. You know, the major bad guy mistake.

It's like Queen Galaxia in Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. Sailor Aluminum Siren. They changed it up for the anime, as for the manga, she succeeded in killing

. Anyway, for Stars, Sailor Soldiers, for the most part, were enemies. Queen Galaxia was collecting Star Seeds, and wanted to rule over the universe. Aluminum Siren, who of which was her minion, was given one last chance to bring the seeds of the Sailor Soldiers (the ones we know, Moon and her friends) to her. Aluminum Siren failed the mission, but discovered something even better. All of the identities of the Sailor Soldiers and the Starlights too, if I'm remembering right. What does Galaxia do? She kills Aluminum Siren for her failure, even though she had that good information for her. It would've saved Galaxia trouble and she wouldn't have had to use her other Sailor Animamates to go after them all.

i thought it was more of an organisation thing not a personal motive... sherry betrayed the organisation and she knew quite a lot of inside stuff (especially the drug) so it's dangerous for her to be left alone. safer for the org to eliminate her entirely... :/

Minor problem with that though. Unless others are working on the drug Sherry FINISHED and know how to make it, they need her for that. By now it clear she has not told all she knows about the BO. I believe they can not and will not kill her because she is priceless in value as far as her knowledge goes. If they could find a way to get her back, they would do that in a moment, I think. Killing her would set back their plans back possibly hundreds of years!

I think it's a bit more than Org motives. Yeah, there's that factor, but people like Irish and Pisco he just straight out killed. With Sherry, he said "I thought I'd let you go out with style". People like Gin don't see killing as anything more than a function like stubbing out a cigarette (He's an Affectionless Psychopath), so that he'd go to so much trouble for Sherry is very indicative that perhaps he felt that her leaving was an extra betrayal.

I really doubt that there is or was anything romantic between them. Shiho is a rat that got away to him. Probably the only one to get away. So naturally hes very excited in killing her because shes not just some random person he doesn't know. Hes very twisted o.O
