(long bad day is long)
Spoiler:
So, I moved the majority of my stuff from my old apartment to my new one today. The plan was originally for me to drive to the U-Haul place, have my dad sign stuff for me, then I'd be on my way and I'd be able to return it myself and drive off (because dad would be playing golf at that point and unavailable)
8 30 am: wake up to take care of bank business
10 41: Dad calls and says "hey, I had an idea: Because the weather today isn't looking good, I'm not gonna go golfing today, but Sunday instead. So I'll just pick you up at your apartment, drive you to the U Haul place, and when you're done, call me and I can meet you there when you drop it off and drive you back to your old apartment where your car is. Alright". I say okay.
11 00: Arrive at U Haul, I get the moving van and pack up all my stuff and drive off to the new apartment, where I have a 2 00pm appointment.
2 00 pm: Even though I have an appointment, some other people are moving a gigantic amount of stuff in as well, so I have to carry all my heavy stuff the long way around and it made me
hard.
3 20pm: I finish unloading, call my dad and let him know I'll be at U Haul in an hour or so so he can meet up with me. His response: "Oh, the weather was actually good today, so I went golfing anyway, so I can't meet you there. I guess you'll have to call a cab or something."
Me:
thanks for taking a perfectly decent plan and switching it with one that hinged entirely on you not playing golf and then playing golf anyway, and not even bothering to call and tell me the change of plans until I called expecting you to meet me. Wonderful." :I
4 49: I arrive at U Haul, return the truck and call a cab. They say that they'll call me back when a cab's available.
5 06: They call me back and say the cab will be there in about 5 minutes and that they'll call me back when it arrives
5 26: After seeing no cab, I call back and ask what the status is. They say "oh, looks like that was canceled." ...what :V So I have them schedule another cab and they're like "alright you can call back in 15 minutes to check on your status"
5 37: I call them back, ask about the status. They say the "paperwork's still going through" (what paperwork is there anyway?)
5 46: I call the cab place back, and they tell me that the paperwork's almost ready and that I should get a call within a few minutes.
5 55: I get a call from them, and they say "A cab's on its way, should be there in less than 5 minutes, keep an eye out for Cab #blablabla"
6 06: I call the cab place again and ask what the status of the cab is, they put me on hold. This brings me to an answering machine.
6 09: I call back again and get a guy with a staticy phone. He tells me to hold on (but stays on the line), but after a minute or two of silence I get patched through to an answering machine again. I start walking.
7 17: I arrive at my apartment after walking 3-4 miles (notice how this is a shorter period than I spent arguing with the cab people). It's then that I realize that I didn't bring my desk chair along in the U Haul. I try to disassemble it, but I packed up the specific tool the stupid weird screws needed to be undone. I find one of the correct tools for the job laying on the ground... but it's the wrong size. I try to fit it fully assembled in my civic, but it's just an inch or two too big and I can't get it through the door.
8 01: I drive home to get my dad's subaru for the chair and a few other things. The round trip takes around 40 minutes from my apartment.
~11 00: I arrive at my new apartment with my stuff
~12 40am: I get back home and get my car, and the only good thing in this entire story happens: I got food from Arby's. Not only was it delicious, but it was the first food I'd had in over 24 hours (and the first substantial food I'd had in about 36). Actually, two good things happened: I got to see my cat and he missed me a lot \o/
1 48: I arrive back in my new apartment and ready to pass the hell out.
and to top it all off, I've been sick since yesterday and I just spent the whole day physically exerting myself, and I'm sore all over. :I
