yes
he is also capable of making an arc that takes shorter than 4 years
it would at least partially redeem what would otherwise likely be a worthless addition to the story, since one of my problems with this is that Bourbon is more of a plot device instead of an actual character.
What is the purpose behind the character Sera?

I don't think Gosho would do that. It's just that DC has never had such mean tones and to me would feel like a sudden turn that is dark for the sake of being dark. I also think it would be a bit distracting from everything, plus it would take away the focus from the regular characters (Conan and Ran) and from the potential characters (Haibara and Jodie).Chekhov MacGuffin wrote: On an even more serious note though, assuming a "Sera mistakes scar Akai for the real Akai and gets attacked/captured by Bourbon" plot, does anyone wonder if Bourbon will threaten to ... do things... to Sera just to screw with Akai? I think it would really make Bourbon's character worthy of the title villain, but do you think it's possible for Gosho to write a threat like this so that is it also suitable for young audiences?

SHe exists so we(and the characters) can make fun of her for not having any breasts.
