Re: The thread where you tell about your dreams
I dreamed that I was sitting in a van in the driveway of the house where I used to live, and there was this hobo on the side of the road waving a gun around and threatening people. There was a mob of people/reporters around him, since apparently it was a big story. In the van with me was some friends from high school, and Meme was randomly there too. Everyone was pretty scared of the hobo waving a gun around, but I was oddly fascinated until he approached the van and it turned out it was just a folded piece of cloth, not a gun.
Then we left the van, and it was suddenly my birthday. Then we walked through my neighborhood to some nearby woods (passing a hobo who was preaching about the endtimes being upon us), where we counter a lot of knights fighting a dragon. We pick up some sword-shaped sticks and start fighting, but after the dragon disarms us someone lures us away down some "shortcut" or something, and then we realize an accomplice of theirs stole all of our weapons on the ground. Then I pick up a huge sword-shaped tree trunk (there was a splinter on the end large enough for me to grab onto, and for some reason I'm using it one-handed) and start using that as my sword. Someone from the van points out "There's no possible way you can wield that tree as a sword!" And I just look at them and go "pssssh". I'm sort of slow with it so I never manage to hit the dragon, and then the handle-splinter snaps off of the trunk due to the weight/force. I was pretty sad.

Re: The thread where you tell about your dreams
doubleposting because this topic being on the second page is a horrible crime D:
had a dream where some guy who got hired the same time as me had applied to become my intern and was gonna start as it in a few days as my "integer entry specialist". I was confused because not only was that a stupid thing to intern for, but also how I was getting an intern at all. I was also worried because it's not like I have a lot of work right now anyway so it would just become more apparent. :I

Re: The thread where you tell about your dreams
it should be noted that in the dream he wasn't just going to type numbers, but because he was my intern, I myself was no longer allowed to type any numbers on a keyboard. If I ever typed something up where I needed to use a number, I would have to get him to type it in for me and then continue on.

Wow, that's awesome. And completely ridiculous. You have very strange dreams, Akonyl.

Re: The thread where you tell about your dreams
Had a dream that gave me a nice start for a story, but I couldn't develop it so I gave up on the idea (though I'm pretty sure I've already seen this in some other places too)
A young girl goes back to her house (she lives alone btw, medieval era + fantasy settings). On her way, she gets attacked by a pack of black wolves, but then a white silver wolf comes to her rescue. After a fierce fight between the wolves, the black wolves flee, but the white wolf gets seriously wounded and passes out, transforming into a boy with silver hair (yeah, I know....). With no time to waste, the girl decides to try and take the boy to her house in order to treat his wounds.
A day later, the boy wakes up and finds himself at the girl's small and old house. The two converse for a bit, and the boy, who turns out to have quite an unfriendly attitude, tells her that he is a half demon (again, I know...) and then.......the two decide to set out on an adventure and to save the land from the demons......? (dunno, I think I added this last thing, they did decide to set out on an adventure though....)
And yes, I know - this is really unoriginal and way too familiar. Apparently dreams wouldn't help to get good ideas.
Perhaps if the genders were switched it would be a little better, but just a bit.

Re: The thread where you tell about your dreams
But I believe dreams can be used as an inspirations for stories. I once had an amazing dream that I'd turn into a story if I could write. Naturally there were likenesses to actual stories but nothing to blatant, it was just in the way stories normally are like each other.

I'm against not writing a story because you (think) you can't write
If it could be a great story, it should be written!

Re: The thread where you tell about your dreams
It's more like I physically can't write, I have the most terrible writers block. And then there's the fact that not all can be good writers no matter how good the story, it might still lack substance and stuff.

Re: The thread where you tell about your dreams
one of them involved humans evolving like pokemon.
Another involved me and another friend who I haven't seen in a while attending some party in some rich neighborhood, and we decided to explore the house (in bathrobes, and completely sloshed). As we're exploring we find a hallway that keeps going deeper and deeper, until we find ourselves in the back stocking area of a grocery store. We keep walking and hear some meeting going on so we decide to turn back, but when we do we can't find our way back and it's just another store with employees swarming everywhere (the stores were Superfresh and Lowes, respectively). So we run out of the store and into the street (in the middle of the night) and manage to flag someone down, who lets us ride in their car even though they have no clue where the "house connected to Superfresh" is. Eventually we realize we're getting nowhere with this person so we ask them to stop and get out of their car. While I'm looking around at the super-nice houses, I glance over and see that my friend is already entering one and I'm just thinking "that's not the right house at all!", but continue to follow him, in case we find a passage connecting to the party-house. Instead, we just creep around these peoples' house in our bathrobes, encountering them one by one (reading books) until we run into the third guy again, who's significantly weirded out at this point and shuts himself behind a glass door and calls the cops. I just beg for him to not call them and I'm just yellin "noooo we're loooooost"
also, all the booze at the party was this:
disregarding the fact that that's not actually booze at all. The party was hosted by Rebecca Black.
