True, true, the word "charismatic" might be more fitting. And in that domain, all of these characters except Araide can compete with Haibara.

Again, I think Heiji does, and taking into the whole "New Ai" then you ... it could be me but I don't feel anything for these characters. I like what Matsuda did, but only in what it did with the other characters.

"new Ai" is still better than a lot of the characters, and at the least, on the same playing field as some of the DC heavy hitters
