If I'm, for some reason, not stunned due to grief (hey, my family is dead!) it'd depend on whether only the area of the city itself is affected or also the near surroundings (which I'd find out by travelling a short distance by bike). In the former case, I'll probably move over to my grandparents and see how things work out, in the latter I'll probably have to wait for some sort of rescue team

Hope I had my phone and that it had signal. If not, try and sit in the shade of a dune until nightfall, then pick a direction and walk. Keep an eye out for things like lizards, which likely live near a water source.
