BO, they seem like a better evil organization.

Stability.

Actually, we once had a lesson on that in career counselling. We were to position ourselves on a 2-dimensional grid. The left/right axis represented orientation on topic vs. orientation or persons (i.e. choosing between a group of people you know dealing with a topic you have no interest in at all (left) and a group of strangers dealing with a topic you like a lot (right)) and the top/bottom axis representing change (top) and stability (bottom). While the right/left axis was easy enough, I had quite some trouble with the other one, as I do support change, but only if it increases stability. However, the teacher said that the aim was the deciding thing, which is why, if you imagine the grid as going from -5 to 5 on both axis, I ended up at (-5|-4.5) :P
(Though -5 on the left/right axis is pretty much identical to +5 on said axis for me anyway, due to the fact that the people I know well tend to have the same interests as me to begin with :P)

Short or long replies?

Depends on the question, but I like long ones :)

Stability and change being complete opposites or not?
