Perhaps the whole Boutbon Akai Skar!Akai and Sera - thing is a mystery-front and there is more to figure out in the backgroud that isn't directly realated to this arc.
For example, some characters have seemed to be suspicious of Conan

And about the whole Bourbone-thing: I had no clue what was going on  untill I read the theories Chekhov and the other members here have come up with

Spoiler:
Haibara will have a face-off with Sera in the future - this plot will not be related to the Bourbon arc

I doubt that Gosho would do something like having Haibara "sense" Sera  :D

Sera is the sister of a major character

Probably Akai's

Aoyama forgot his ä¼

ignoring some lamer opinions, you tldr'ed it since as already pointed out, Gosho didn't say most of these things like they would definitively happen as much as say they may or may not happen.

I don't know if the interview was actually as silly as
Q: Is Sera someone's sister?
A: She might be a major character's sister!

but yeah

Damnit!  Why did I read this thread?! Ah godamnit, I mean I already knew about Sera, it's kind of hard not to, but aaaaaah.

Edit: wow, I wrote more but something happened internet-wise on the site.

I don't really want to type it all out again, but basically, has Gosho done this before, as in put in this many spoilers?  It doesn't seem to fit his M.O. , then again I haven't been following Conan for that long, any long term followers have any input regarding this?  And if he hasn't before, why now?  What does it mean...with Knightus's point that there has been a lack of B.O. plot development recently, could something really big be coming up that could perhaps lead to the end of the series?

Also, really, names Gosho? You spend that long researching names?  I mean, I don't want people to start hating me about not appreciating what he does, but don't you think that time should be spent more on developing the tricks?  I mean, I honestly don't care if the suspects names are puns or resemble popular social networks.  And why would he even say that, as an author of a famous manga about mysteries, he has the audacity to say he doesn't spend any time thinking on the tricks >_< ...

Actually, the "names" is the dialogue.
"I wonder if there really is a God...
If such an entity really existed, wouldn't all honest, hard-working people be happy?"

It's not the dialogue T_T it's the manuscript, the basic sketch of the whole chapter, including every posture, ... although withOUT any detail,... It's what editors in the magazines use to give hints to the author about what they could change for the better before starting drawing it seriously like: "make this a double panel to reflect the dramatism of the moment instead of two single panels" or "change the angle so he is looking at everybody in the room..." or "I think if he was crying in this panel it would..." or "this is a shonen manga, X can't say that, what about changing to..." or whatever. That's one of the main uses of a name.

PS: Corrected an important typo

Otherwise known as a storyboard.

At least the Kaitou Kid anime episodes alluded to in this thread happened. One of which indirectly involved the Phantom Lady, though she did not appear in person. I haven't read the Kid manga, she might actually appear there.

I don't know what I would read/watch if Detective Conan finished. Buit, it's been 15 years. If Aoyama ended the series tomorrow,  I'd be sad to see it go, but it's still an amazing accomplishment. I'm glad, according to this thread, that he plans a happy resolution ... or any resolution instead of leaving the ending hanging. Hopefully the publishers / producers will allow him that.

We just had two MK chapters largely focused around the Phantom Lady and the first Kaitou Kid. And they were awesome.

I wish that'll be the case. If Detective Conan has a bad or sad ending (that's what I fear the most talking about DC) I'll feel like I have wasted my last 10 years reading it :/.
Spoiler:
It happened to me when I readed Slam Dunk, what an end, for god's sake  :-\.
I like to think that Aoyama didn't spent the last 16 years drawing something that would have a bad ending...

I'm pretty sure he said that it was going to have a happy ending.
