i agree that the wife/mother might die but when she did that evil laugh i'm thinking she might be the killer since the least likely is usually the one.

I agree with that. She got a lot of things from other people, so she might die in next chapter, but her laugh is a proof that she killed the son at least. I remember there were a few cases where the culprit laughed or smiled after killing somebody when he/she thought that he/she was safe and nobody would discover the truth. I don't see the point of laughing if she's simple happy that her husband and stepson were killed. I mean, if she's innocent she should watch out, right?

My theory (version 1.1):
1) The wife didn't kill her husband, BUT maybe she manipulated the son to kill his father. I think she told the son that he would get the company, if he killed his father. The son was stupid, so he bought it and killed the father with his stepmother's help who covered him. Proofs that she took part in murder:
- she lied about tiles - that nobody will see them anymore, but actually there's a bathroom with these tiles --> she wanted to cover the truth about optical illusions
- she told the maid to use normal phone to call police - she wanted to have time to wash the letters left by victim
- when the son said to her that he will become the president, she simply agreed with him, but after his death she said it was nonsense --> proof that the stepmother gave him kind of promise
- quarrel between father and son, but it turned out that this was stepmother's mistake in calculation - I bet she did it in purpose, so somebody would see it and tell police later and negative relations between father and son would grow

2) Creepy scene at house in Osaka - there's no way that it was prepared by the son, nor the stepmother. I've a feeling that not the culprit wrote a letter to Heiji, but a person who discovered the truth about the murder and wanted to show some hints to great detective - hints about optical illusions and bloody letters on the floor. Who did that? Dunno. Maybe it was a person who would kill the wife??

3) The son was killed - we're sure that there was nothing about the cake, so how come he got poisoned? Simple - on the picture he ate the cake and THEN he licked his thumb. Probably he had a poison on his hand. How? Dunno, cause we don't know what he did before he met Conan and others.

4) Anybody noticed that the housekeeper is really helpful here? Isn't it suspicious? I wonder if she's the person who discover the truth and made creepy scene in Osaka or if she's Kaito Kid or if she's the bad one who will kill the wife. As I saw there were a lot of cups with black tea made by housekeeper...

Till now there are all my thoughts about the case. Hope we will get something more in next chapter, cause it's even more interesting...

1) could be, but she could also have killed her husband and then written "SON" so the first to find will remember that, blaming the son. but because the dying message would be to obvious, she hid the tiles. If someone found out she had switched the tiles, she could just pretend that she wanted to protect her (step)son. Or that was the plan to begin with.

2) I also think that it was someone who found out or had a suspicion. one can't just goe to the police and say "hey guys, I know, I'm a suspect, but I know how that guy did it" I think it could either be the secretary or the maid

3) probably from his computer? like the side of his mouse?

4) that is one of the reasons I thought she could have written the letter. She also was the first one to discover the body. also, she looks like KID when he freed Lupin in the iron... something- case

btw, did you also have to think  for some minutes about when Kazuha met those police officers? I mean, that case was.... 300 chapters or so ago

1) Nice! That sounds good. I think that really wife did something like that. Still,  I'm pretty sure that the husband wrote the name of murderer, not the wife. The wife as the brain of murder, couldn't let anybody to blame the son before his death. Why? Because if somebody discovered that the son was murderer, he would immediately say that his mother told him to to that. So she had to cover her stepson. If anybody discovers letters on tiles after son's death, it would be fine. She could say that probably her stepson washed the letters and changed tiles. The wife couldn't confess that she tried to cover her stepson, cause covering the murderer is a crime too!

3) Computer mouse, you said? Good idea. Who knows, maybe before the meeting the wife showed something to stepson on her computer. As I saw, she's the only person who uses Mac computer (she doesn't know how to use normal pc), so somewhere in the house must be Mac. Right now we only saw the husband's pc. Maybe the poison is still there...

About Kazuha and police officers - XD XD. You're right. The case of Sengoku was long time ago, but in DC world probably only passed a couple of weeks. XD I'm also suprised that Yui gave Kazuha her email adress and phone number. I mean, how would you behave if a girl you doesn't know much ask you about it, because she wants to know if somebody confessed?? XD It sounds idiotic for me. Besides, do you think that Yui actually confessed? It didn't sound like confession for me at all.

Also i don´t wonder that Ran and Kazuha can talk about love matters so easily in a house where 2 and now 3 murders had happend. After all they had witnessed hundreds of killed people so far.
I bet in ten or twenty chapters they gonna exchange recipes while the corpse isn´t even cold yet.

Oh and thank you Gosho and that at least someone find Conan´s acting/behaviour weird. About time, after all Conan being a child and thus *unable* to solve the crimes like usually is one of the main themes of the story. ^^

Ok, so the Son killed his father, the wife killed the Son.
Oh, and the maid/houskeeper seems to be the daughter of the president.

What I loved about this chapter:
"There better not be more dead folk turning up" talking about confession< scene. Kazuhas deadpan snark towards Kogoro and her scaring Heiji


the two men don't have enough profile to be the murderer.
the maid is either the one who played the gost or she is damn good at acting and is the murderer
I quess the secretary is the murderer of the wife and the poison was on the computer or the desk

Kogoro does seem a bit useless, but it's been like that for a couple of years now anyway.

Also, I hadn't notice that this is theoretically the last file of volume 74, volume 75 here we come !

Kogorou was also completely useless in the brother bomber case.

I still want to say that the poison on the knob is a red herring and the optical illusion was used for the cake. It seems a waste if that's not the case.

Yonehara shouldn't be the culprit, she seems to be playing a "Miyuki" role in this case.
