Metal Gear Solid
Does this series affect anyone in the outright orgasmic way that it does me? To date, no film, TV show, not even anything I've seen in my life as of yet(sad, I know) has meant as much to me as the Metal Gear saga. Anyone else a fan?

I love all things Kojima. Policenauts and Snatcher are both masterpieces. The Miami Vice inspired Japanese Tokyo private eye genre that I first saw in Snatcher is a large part of the reason I love watching Conan. I have both for JP Saturn, but my Japanese isn't as good as it could be so I struggle. There is an online project to translate Policenauts and Snatcher was released on Sega CD stateside.
Also, I have played through all of the MGS games, but not the rereleases (such as Subsistance). (I'll admit, I did have to use the save game cheat to beat the sniper in MGS3). Is it worth it as far as story content goes?

The Metal Gear Solid games are so great because there is nothing left out. Music, graphics, gameplay, story, they're all there, and in spades at that.

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

Re: Metal Gear Solid
MGS was just a really good thing to play. I bought MGS4 and finished it, it was really good, but short.
And yes, we surely need a MGS movie now.
In the game, there were a lot of funny jokes about the PS3 and just plain old jokes, and I "LOL'd" when I heard them. xD
I was really anticipating for the game to be able to use the Japanese voices w/- English subtitles, but no Japanese on the game whatsoever. Kind of weird, actually.
---------------------
SPOILERS AHEAD
---------------------
Snake almost killed himself and at the end of MGS4 was a cool wedding. Snake changed his mind about killing himself - that's a good thing, actually. And it ends up that Snake and Liquid have a beat-each-other-up fight and keep using those syringes to help them stay alive...kind of weird, actually. Naomi dies in this game because of cancer. ;.;
It was funny when Johnny confessed to Meryl while they were fighting a lot of enemies. And Meryl was like, "What great timing." XD
In the beginning of MGS4 there was a box full of watermelons and it said on the box, "No place for Hideo". xP
And then the Gekos smashed the box. O.o

From what I hear, it's supposed to be "announced" this year, meaning that I would venture to say that we wouldn't see a movie until about 2011, maybe 12, but who knows, maybe sooner.

Shinran: I also seriously enjoyed the Meryl/Akiba fight/love scene.

The only serious disappointment to me concerning 4 was that you never got to play as Raiden

Although, I have to say, in response to that, Raiden had by far the coolest fight scenes.
My favorite part of the game is the Metal Gear battle. Being able to use REX so freely was just a joy, and beating a RAY(supposedly made to be REX-stoppers) was fabulous.

I loved that scene, it was funny. And yes, using REX was just joy. The hardest boss in this game though, would probably be Vamp.
And I cracked up when I repeated the game from the beginning was what Snake said to Meryl's dad, "The only time I'll see you wearing that is at your daughter's wedding." XD
Snake can see the future. ;.;
And that freaked me out a bit.
By the way, is the name "Sunny" a joke to "Sunny Side up" type of eggs?
