Regarding Ran's "strength"

couldn't find a topic for this, so starting one here...
for several times in the manga Ran is said to be strong ("udetsuyoi", can't type japanese), for example, after beating up culprits.
which always leads to Conan thinking, "is it about the karate?" other characters disagree, without saying what it refers to.
since even Haibara said this once, can this have anything to do with the plot? (yes, i mean the BO!)
just as a side note, Conan doesn't know that Ran protected her from Vermouth.

I think in Haibara case, It's about her attitude toward Ran more than anything else (She respect more of Ran/changing her first assessment of Ran) But in Conan case, it is a running gag since Conan talk about it for a second time in a soon-to-be anime case and

hahaha!! i saw a comment on youtube that Ran may beat the B.O because she will not let BO. to hurt those she loves and i was really LOL!!!!

Ran maybe a big help too  ::) but Shinichi/Conan would never want Ran to get close to dangerous B.O...

:) Girls with capability of martial arts are quite popular in manga world. Sometimes Gosho overacted a bit but I guess it's for humorous effects, like the wall-breaking scene. And some of Ran's karate moves are really beautiful, for example when she rescued Suzuki from the running-down-to-cliff car. And I like her heel drops ...

I just love Ran's Karate...she's a very strong girl :)
