Least favorite character

I dunno if I'd say Ran's naive so much as overly positive.  She always looks for the best in others.  I think deep down she knows the darker side of human nature that's out there, but she chooses to ignore it.  I think it might be a reaction to all the death she sees.  From a more authorial point of view, Gosho might have wanted her to be a more refreshing influence over Shinichi.  After all, he sees the worst of human nature: jealousy, rage, lust, and all winding up with death.  Not to sound cheesy, but Ran's the light through all the dark that he sees.  She hopes for the best, something Shinichi might forget in his rather depressing line of work.

Kid cases never had to do with the main plot, they were just like a little something special every once in a while to mix it up from normal murder cases.  Which one is the most plot hole filled case?

1. True, but it's kinda frustrating when they started having references to MK in 2 great cases and then immediately go to the 2 least interesting Kid cases where nothing of value happens.
2. The Kirin's Horn. The discussion topic talked about it plenty.
3. Yeah, he's a decent character but in his first appearance he was the cool old guy, in the 2nd one, the dying old guy. Now he's just...the old guy. It's not interesting.

If you dislike the character that is supposed to be disliked, then you wouldn't dislike other characters that you might have disliked had the character that Gosho wanted you to dislike never existed in the first place.


edit: I like Jirokichi. He reminds me of my grandfather, (only that my grandfather could easilly take down teenagers when he needed to)

I agree with the above  This is the reason that I actually don't dislike Genta: he's serving his purpose. ...And in actuality *prepares*...

We can't be 100% since we're not Gosho, but I personally am as certain as possible. Nowadays Genta is very much aiming more towards comedy, but back when DC was starting out and even for a while on, he was basically there to just be a complete and utter jerk to Conan. Once he toned down, he slanted towards comedy, but at the very start he was basically just the bully nobody's supposed to like
