Did anyone else find it odd that Gosho called Sera and Haibara "wolves"?  Maybe I'm looking too far into it, but all I can think of is that one scene with Okiya...

I hope this doesn't actually refer to the fate of the japanese wolves. They got extincted. By the way, they had two different kinds of wolves if I remember correctly.
Is there any meaning behind this phrase? Maybe a japanese pun or something like that?
When thinking about wolves, I always remember "The wolves of Mibu"... somehow his phrasing bothers me XD
That would be interesting.

But couldn´t it just be due to Haibara´s ability to "smell" BO members if they are nearby?
Wolf-like instics, or something...

Until then, in my eyes, all of this is worth what you can expect from 2ch, hence not much. I mean, Gosho giving more information in one interview than he has in 17 years is not something I'd expect.
i don't think its fake then dcfc translated and scanned the magazine page and this is the link if you wanna see it Once i seen this i wasn't so skeptical

It means she's Org. or Aoyama is intentionally misleading folk in the interview. (I'd bet he's throwing a bone, rather than a herring, to the fans who picked up on the werewolf symbolism from all the talk about scents and fearing silver bullets.)

Since James recognizes her, but lies about it, I'm almost certain Shuuichi had a sister that looks like her who was was put in the witness protection program when Shuuichi's cover was blown. I think Bourbon found her, and either recruited her or is disguised as her. I find it hard to believe Shuuichi's sister would be Bourbon herself, though, unless she proved herself to the boss in a rather extreme way (ie, killing family members or long time friends who were in the FBI/CIA/whatever, or at least making the boss think she did).

"*exits stage left*" Staying off stage would be great, thank you. (Seriously, even if Aoyama is doing Robert Orci style BSing here, it still means more than nothing. "Fans" not picking up on the silver bullet/wolf stuff is rather appalling.)

But what reasons would James have to lie about it to the other FBI? If James knew who she was, he would also know she is putting herself in a lot of danger coming to Japan to investigate because the BO could use her as leverage against the FBI, and worse she is a civilian. Even if Sera was an FBI agent dispatched to help (I don't think she is) why would James not tell Jodie and Camel, who are two trustworthy agents?

I'm assuming it's a "need not to know" bureaucratic/security thing. Even if someone is 99.99999999% trustworthy, why even introduce that .00000001% risk of a leak until it's necessary? Should James think it's necessary already? Why not first try to convince "Sera" that she's being foolish coming to Japan, that she is putting herself in danger and possibly interfering with an FBI operation? If she refuses to leave, then he can let a few trusted agents or Conan keep an eye on her. Presumably it won't work out quite that way, but I don't think he should reveal covers too quickly, either. (I also think he's been lying to Jodie about Shuuichi's death, BTW. I think he ordered Shuuichi to say something a bit more than "trust me" when Shuu stopped him from calling backup. Scene change was just too abrupt after the, "Why?", not even a, "Just trust me!{drives off}")

What other reason would he have to lie unless he's Org. himself? I don't really see Hidemi's return to the Org. going the way it did if he'd been Org. the whole time, or him even letting the team go to Japan in the first place. Seems a bit over elaborate when he could just sabotage the investigation back in the U.S. by refusing to put his neck out for the dubiously legal adventure in the first place. Now, maybe he was compromised later...

Are you taking his weak, "Wisdom of age," when Jodie called him out, to be the truth?

It strikes me that, "It took a long time to cultivate such eyes," is vague enough to be referring to Sera's eyes. (So, heh, Shuu's real sister is in the WPP, and this fake one is another FBI Org. infiltrator... I wonder if these particular name word plays are meant to be perceived by the characters, unlike the usual "Mr. Infidelity Revenge" name puns.)

Here was my reasoning on all this, right or wrong as it may be:
Jd- wrote: James knowing is going to be fairly simple, I'd say. It's probably that he either knew it was Akai's sister (due to seeing her when she was younger) or saw the resemblance and recalled that Akai had a sister (given that he's somewhat high up in the personnel, he would know of Akai's background given he was a subordinate). There's unlikely to be much more to it than that (as in, Sera's likely not a deep cover operative for the FBI or CIA or whatnot).
Jd- wrote:
Dus wrote: But why wouldn't he say "That's (probably) Shuichi's sister"?
Didn't James already get on Camel's case for bringing up Akai to Jodie? James must know it's hard for everyone else on the team to cope with the "loss" of him, and surely doesn't want to bring it up by noting that Akai's sister is out running about--presumably looking for him.
Jd- wrote:
Commi-Ninja wrote: Yeah, and that's not something Jodie really needs to know right now, anyway.
Indeed. For those that don't remember, here's the exchange:

I can't see why this wouldn't be the exact reasons James didn't say anything.
