It is made too obvious that he is licking his fingers, I'm relatively sure it's something to do with it. Other than that:

I noticed that too.  I was surprised he didn't ask Heiji to look into what Sera was doing there.  (Then maybe Kazuha would get jealous, and then...)
As for the boys getting really excited about a murder, I think it's a coping mechanism.  I mean, they can't just sit and cry that someone's dead.  I get that it's not really respectful to the dead, but not looking at it emotionally would be really important for a detective.

Gotta agree with this. Not to mention...if you don't know the person you're usually not very sad when they die. ...Which reminds me of a quote I heard

"Someone's cat dying is like them losing their keys. Sucks for them but no one else really cares."

Not quite the same, but it's got a few of the same principals.

To add on, they find detective work to be thrilling...they probably take cases as if they were Phoenix Wright games. "...Oh seriously? Another case? Awesome!"

Haha, yeah, exactly.  Some random guy died.  They still show emotion (think of the episode where the lady tries to kill the other one with her nail, sorry, forgot the #), but when the saddest part is some random person they've never met/met for 10 minutes/met for 10 minutes and is also a huge jerk, then you're not going to have much of an emotional reaction, particularly when you've bee a bit desensitized from seeing soooooo many dead bodies.

Yeah, that's about almost all I can think of has happened since Sera's arrival that deals with the main plot. There's the video of Haibara that could also lead to something, but it'ls probably more for the Sera vs Ai showdown mentioned in the interview.
