Re: Eri's Misfortune Case (709 - 711?): Vote for the culprit
i'm wondering why the victim was killed in Eri's room. maybe there was no choice? becoz imo, killing the victim in Eri's room only proves that the murderer has to be either the husband, mum or son. i actually wanted to say that killing the vic outside could bring the possibility of a robbery into it, but that seems highly unprobable becoz the vic didn't seem to be carrying anything valuable.
anyway, killing the victim in Eri's room is too risky. if the mum or son did it, they wouldn't know when Eri would be coming back. And even though Eri told the husband she would be out until 11pm, he can't be certain that Eri wouldn't return earlier. if i were the killer, i would definitely move her to somewhere secluded so i can kill her in peace.
as for kogoro, he's either plotting something for Eri or has just decided to leave her for good. becoz no matter what, i think it's too harsh for kogoro to tell Eri to wear a cat's collar. that's like too much for it to be a joke.

If growing up means getting hurt, I would rather be a child forever. But if being a child means I'll be alone again, I'd rather get myself hurt and grow up. That way, I'll be able to run away from here, as far as possible.

...Well I dunno, if someone told me to wear a cat collar I'd ask them to buy one for me. A blue one, with little sparkly toy jewels on it

Gosho has always used that system with suspects. Besides, I think he wants it to reflect the case in which someone died in Kogoro's room and Eri needed to solve the case.PopcornMaker wrote: i'm wondering why the victim was killed in Eri's room. maybe there was no choice? becoz imo, killing the victim in Eri's room only proves that the murderer has to be either the husband, mum or son. i actually wanted to say that killing the vic outside could bring the possibility of a robbery into it, but that seems highly unprobable becoz the vic didn't seem to be carrying anything valuable.

Yep, he solved one involving his University friends and one involving his middle school or high school classmate. He'd better use his brain cells or Eri's going to leave him for good.aiumi wrote:PopcornMaker wrote:ah, i see. then i really hope kogoro will get back his senses and make some good deductions. he's seriously gotta stop relying on conan. Also, I doubt Conan would dare perform the sleeping Kogoro act in front of Eri, she's too smart to be fooled.

I'm looking forward to Serious Kogoro who actually deserves Yokomizo's praise... and an ippon seoi or three as a bonus.

Re: Eri's Misfortune Case (709 - 711?): Vote for the culprit
710 raw is out and someone provided a link in the spoiler chatbox to a read online version so I won't describe the file this week unless someone specifically asks.
The suspects' room numbers, 302 (mother and son) and 309 (husband), should not be directly adjacent to Eri's 306, but both are close by so it wouldn't be strange for the suspects to be nearby. Assuming an alternating numbering scheme found in most hotels, 302 would be two doors down on the same side of the hallway as Eri's room. 309 would be cater-corner.
The table edge was a drawing artifact which means the murder weapon seems to not be at the scene of the crime unless its identity is announced with the text only. Candidate weapons I can think of include the ash trays or the golf clubs from the mother and son's room. Eri's and both suspects' rooms have their ashtrays visible. Eri's and the husband's are empty by the way.
A small section of the base of the hanging sheets is stained by blood near where the victim's head is, but the area around the stain is clear of the blood suggesting either the body, or the bed, or the sheets had been moved. There are also two blood stains at the foot of the bed by the leg. There is also a strange "dashed-line track" of blood that is perpendicular to the side of the bed. The victim's head is nowhere nearby so perhaps these stains were caused when the criminal, who had blood on him/herself, touched these places.
The thing Conan picked up in the husband's room was the side mirror of one of the cars. When the husband reaches for one of the cars, he gets a little "ding" by the side of his head; perhaps he changed his mind on which car he would pick up mid-reach? While we can't see all the cars lined up, all the ones we do see have their side mirrors. It's also strange that the guy would even bring those cars in the first place although his wife might have brought them since she was a promotional model for a racing pit crew.
Those dashed line tracks could be caused by one of the model cars driving through a blood stain which would create a dashed pattern as the wheel went around. If the husband was the culprit, he could have used a model car as part of his trick to prop the door, and when the door slammed closed it knocked off the side mirror. I couldn't tell from the words if the cars were remote controlled.
I'll revise things when we get a quick translation...The bed has space under it to hide. The shoes are right by the victim's body around her feet.

If growing up means getting hurt, I would rather be a child forever. But if being a child means I'll be alone again, I'd rather get myself hurt and grow up. That way, I'll be able to run away from here, as far as possible.
